An adequate but not outstanding hotel. Had to pay a supplement for sea view but as part of the hotel is set back from the main road it gave poor value. Pool was very cold as it is almost always in shadow. Breakfast was very good and decor in lounge areas is excellent.

Top Local Tips for Palma de Mallorca

Abaco bar A visit to Abaco bar on Calle St Joan is a must. Expensive, cocktails cost €15 but it is a real experience.

Don't do Palma on a Sunday Spent only one day is enough to see the city of Palma, just make sure it's not on a Sunday where all the stores are closed. The island is HUGE so rent a car and drive around. Places like Pollensa, Valdemossa and Deia are highly recommended. It’s not just the beaches; the mountain villages are equally amazing and dramatic.

Eating alternatives Try to go elsewhere than the Calle des Apuntadors for the evening dinner, although the food there is not bad at all. The Michelin Guide has some excellent suggestions such as C'an Carlos and Tierra Asunda in the north part of Old Town (don't forget the little humble but ambitious bar between them). Aramis is a place for excellent raviolis and La Boveda is the place for all tapas lovers. We also ate out in Puerto Portals, arguably the most excluisive place on the island - excellent food, but it is really expensive and nothing is for free.
