Top Local Tips for Oviedo

La Palomo - Cafe Italia Cafe Italia (not sure if this is the right name but its near the front of the main shopping centre) - Fabulous Coffee (Cafe Con Leche) and lovely small bites (pincho's) and cakes. Now for Spanish Tapas, atmosphere, and the really feel of Oviedo - La Palomo is the place (on the street behind the Hotel de la Reconquista). When we walked in you should have seen my wife’s face, but if we would have left we would have missed our dinning highlight. The gent behind the bar looked a little scary and the floor around the bar was filled with tab ends and serviettes, but looks were deceiving. The gent was a true character, the place had real day to day Spanish people in, constantly coming and going as testament to the place. We ate the most wonderful tapas and had a great experience with the bar man (owner), me speaking very sketchy Spanish and him babbling on (true Spanish style) without a single word of English - Simply Brilliant. If in Oveido you must go.
