fabulous hotel

from i.r.baboon
the mirador is a fabulous hotel to stay for a relaxing time with the family, its as every thing you need in a holiday and hotel even, weve stayed there xmas and summer holidays now for the past 6 years, and have always had a warm welcome. Not only is the noise of puerto rico only a few euros away if you want it that is,but amodoras is quiet has the best beach on gran canaria, and the views from the balconys are stunning at sunset, the food there is very good with a wide range to suit all,the rooms are very clean and the staff are polite if obviously your not rude like some british are.it has entertainment for children also,so i would recommend this to familys with children, its not the place to go an 18-30,s.

Great Family Holiday

from Uda26
Loved the hotel and the resort, it was quiet , clean, staff were friendly and we want to go back as soon as possible. I think we were very lucky to have found this particular place to stay. And the warmth of the island is just great! It's warmer and less windy here compared to nearer the airport.

not to bad

from scousersrule
we got asked to come here by scottish friends who have been here twice before they highly recommended it.when we got there it was really nice and the hotel was quite nice i thought this was a pleasant surprise until we came to eat there.our friends told us the food was fantastic every year they had been there, even they had a shock the food was awful they had theme nights one of the nights was an italian night we had spaghetti bol it was disgusting it was full of water and the spag was rock solid we got our money back after complaining and so did alot of other couples aswell.
we thought we would try it again and still no luck so we decided to eat out every night.
the actual hotel is very clean room service every day clean towels and bedding etc, theres an irish cafe on the beach front that serves a really good breakfast but for an evening meal your best bet is going into porto rico they have some lovely steak places and indian and chinese resturants.
the hotel entertainment is very good they have an entertainer there called becky shes there from 12 pm until about 11.30pm shes great with the kids but watch your husbands ha ha.
i wouldnt go back again coz once youve been theres not much to do again we are going back to cyprus next year were i know the food is fantastic and so r the people and lots to do.

going back aug 2007( 3rd year running)

from joey joy
just arrived back home yesterday and must admit even better than last year at the mirador del atlantico.
the aparthotel is as clean and spotless as last year. the restaurant has learnt from last year and encourages the holidaymakers to sample different tastes, must admit didnt use much last year. but family of 4( 2 adults 2 kids) can have all you can eat breakfast for 6 euros (adults) and 3 euros(kids under 12).
the theme nights in the restaurant costs 10.50 euros for adults all you can eat excellent.
becky again-as many reviews-keeps everyone going and the aqua aerobics were a good addition from last year.
anyway gotta go searching best deal to go back for next year. but hurry lot of people we spoke to said they were booking as soon as they got home. waaaaaaahhhhaaaaay.

very good

from muls
just got back from the Mirador ..very clean good service ..excellent pool and ideally placed for access to the wonderful beach at an emerging resort .
Mogan market well worth a visit on Friday ..take the boat from puerto rico 10 euro return and enjoy the coastal walk back to your hotel with lovely see breezes
Aqua park represents very good value ..think its a playa del ingles family of four 4 worked out about £62.00 which i think represents good value ..some exc water rides etc .
food a bit pricey ..so take the kids some snacks and drinks to keep the price down ...
the rep at the Mirador deserves a mention ..young becky really works hard to keep the yongsters and adults entertained in the evening .The happy hour btwn 530pm to 8pm also very good value

excellent hotel

from nel
just come back from the mirador after stayin there for two weeks with my wife and two kids an excellent hotel nice and clean, big rooms enough for a family of 4 the food is nice 2 happy hours a day plenty of entertainment for the whole family which is organised by becki who does a fantastic job on her own killer pool ,bowling ,bingo ,mini golf , water polo which can get a bit rough etc.then in the nite you got an hypnotist, abba tribute, flamenco show, parrot show etc,The apartments are only two mins away from the beach which has 60 shops and restaurants plenty of choice of food, if you go to the left handside of the beach there is a path that takes you to porto rico only about 15 mins walk with lovely views of the atlantic ocean the beach is not as nice as amadores beach but porto rico has loads of watersports plenty of fishing trips and all the boat trips go fom porto rico it is much more lively in p rico with more bars and shops restaurants if u can get past the lucky lucky men they are all over the commercial centre there is all u can eat chinese buffets in the the commercial centre for 6 euros which is not bad went there twice very nice. There"s loads to do in the day with trips to waterpark, mogan market which is a must go in a taxi ask at reception they will order you one which for a family of four is about 30 euros return with the tour operator same trip but on a coach 60 euros .Overall brilliant hotel and location with loads to do cant wait to go there again i can t find nothing bad to write so enjoy your holiday i did

Fantastic place

from jobbie800
My wife and I stayed here for 1 week, no kids just us. It was fantastic. The place was so clean, with maids coming in, making beds and fresh towels everyday it was a dream.
The position of the hotel in fine just 5 mins to the beach (walking) and what a beach, the locals use this beach more than Porto Rico, its beautiful.
I recomend the Titanic Resturant, on the beach, such great service and fantastic food, (Tuna Steak with canarian potatos is the best)
Used the taxis alot to run over to Porto Rico (never more than 3 euros) for the night life and shopping but Amadores is heaven, quiet, peaceful, clean, so relaxing.
The hotel enetertainment was very good, if you wanted to take part in it you could, but no pressure if you didnt, (like us) although we took part in bingo, and all the staff were so friendly. The shows we saw were really good and vey well produced.
The breakfasts were well worth the money (6 euro, all you can eat) we didnt make it for dinner, but around 10 euro all you can eat, themed nights.
We so wanna go back there, never felt this before as we like to go once and on to the next place, i recomend the return trip to Mogan Market (friday) by boat from porto Rico (9 euros return) its
All in All 10/10

just got back from holiday yesterday and had a great time.

Mirador is a lovely hotel, set a few minutes walkfrom the lovely beach at amadores. The hotel is really clean and overall seems very friendly. The rooms are quite spacious and the decor is nice. the showers are really powerful and there is a microwave in the kitchen which no other hotel i have visited has had.
cleaning is done 6 days a week and towels changed as often as you like. there is a mimi market on site which sold all the basics and was great for us but there are also some shops selling basics on the beach front.

we did not use the pool at the hotel as the sea and beachg is gorgeous but everyday the pool had people using it and the entertainemnt is based mostly here which seemed to be great as all the kids and parents looked happy. there is a poolside bar with 2 happy hours which was really good value and each day there was also evening entertainment which was a bit cheesy but good fun and everyone seemed really happy.
in front of the hotel is the bus to playa mogan which was so convenient as every 20 minutes. over the road is the stop for puerto rico, which is good for supermarkets and getting buses to elsewhere on the island but i wouldn't recommend the beach there after being on amadores.

amadores has a few restaurants on beach which is great on the evening watching the sunset. Good reataurants are carpaccio which does great spag bol and friendly service and flippers for snacks at lunch.

there was a little building work being done acrowss the road but not on weekends and when they were working it was after 8.30 in morning and i could hardly hear them, the new building also does not block hotel room view as it is to side of hotel.

overall had a good stay and would recommend to friends

Excellent Value for Money

from Family-Travels3
We have just returned from staying at the "Mirador Del Atlantico" in Amadores, Gran Canaria. Amadores is quite hilly as is Puerto Rico but taxi‘s are very cheap. Mirador has good pool space although we did find that sun loungers were being put out by everyone by 9.30am (the usual story) however the hotel had more loungers brought out and that mainly solved the problem.

Becky the resident entertainer was very good with kids of all ages (2 to 42) and encouraged the adults to join in all the games and activities. The pool bar was fine and did different specials every day (two happy hours every day) and there was a different entertainment show on at 10pm every night, so if you wanted to stay in there was always something on. The only downside to the whole hotel was that there was very little drawer space within the apartments, (so with four of us in the apartment it was a bit crushed for clothes space), which were otherwise excellent. We had a sea view onto Amadores beach and the beach itself was fab, much better than the one at Puerto Rico.

There is building work going on opposite the hotel and also just along from the hotel however there was very little noise and no upset to anyone.

There are two main centres for night’s out and shopping, the first being the Europa Centre which is at the top of the hill above the complex. You can walk up to it, but it’s easier to jump in a taxi at around 2 to 3 euro’s. Good places to eat there are the “Tavern Bar” on the second floor (good food and good entertainment) and on the ground floor is the “Joki” restaurant which is also really good. There is also the Barbacoa which does main meal and snacks and has three different acts each night which was good variety.

The other centre is the Commerce Centre which is located in the centre of Puerto Rico and is very busy. The only bad thing about it is people constantly hassle you to come into their bar/restaurant (not nearly as bad in the Europa Centre). There is a nice Chinese buffet there called the “Slow Boat” which is at the very far end of the centre. Lots of good bars as well. To get there just take a taxi and again it will only cost 2 to 3 euro’s.

One last piece of advice - don’t go to the Mogan market on a Friday, with the rep as it’s quite expensive on the bus with them (21 Euro‘s for an adult and 13 per child). A taxi for four people only cost 12 euro’s and the local bus is cheaper but takes ages.

All in all a good place to stay either as a couple or as a family and would recommend it to anyone.
