Disillusion
The first impression I got from the hotel was an architecturally pleasant building with an exquisite decoration that confirmed the published photos I had seen. My first disappointment was with the beach. Access to the beach was done through the roads of a residential area not offering neither privacy nor an adequate level of security. The beach itself was quite an unattractive dark sanded beach that at high tide was left with a line of rocks and a narrow strip of sand. The hotel is quite isolated from commercial and leisure areas so activity is dependant on the hotel's few facilities. On the other hand the hotel has very few services and most are ridiculously highly over priced (e.g. 60 Euro for a beach hut for 2 persons, 20 Euro per hour for Internet access, 17 Euro for a Toast etc). Fortunately I had a car to seek other options.

Stylish and Quiet
Nice and comfortable rooms - The restaurant service and the food in the main restaurant are under the standard for a five stars hotel. The restaurant on the beach area is a very good also the swimming pool and the rest area. Good and friendly service.
From the moment we stepped into 'Los Monteros' until we left four days later...we were treated like the most important people in the hotel. The staff goes out of it's way to accomodate each and every request...with a smile and "It's my Pleasure". Beautiful setting, wonderful staff, lovely hotel. We would stay again and again!
Simply the best hotel in Marbella. We have stay in all the 5 star properties of Marbella and "Los Monteros" has been so far the best value for money. Staff is lovely (even if you don't speak spanish). Food is fantastic (especially the buffet at the beach club). The beach club is unique in Europe with incredible 2x2 meters sun beds including champagne service. The 2 giant swimming pools are a must (one at the hotel and the other at the beach club). Rooms were refurbished one year a go and are more than spacious. Weather was great and we have been playing golf next door. We definitely recommend this outstanding hotel to everybody and we will be there next year again.
