Fine as far as it goes

from Juliexcellent base for marbella
from moungayThe hotel was occupied with mainly Spanish people and there was not an endless parade of tour buses which was very nice. The hotel was very clean and although our room was average size the beds and pillows were extremely comfortable.
The hotel has a lovely indoor and outdoor pool so good for all weather and the facilities were good .The beach was right in front of the hotel and the old town of marbella was a 2 minute walk away.
I would easily recommend this hotel.
Great location
from A TripAdvisor MemberWe ate out at "Restaurante Bodega El Burlaero" which was about 5 mins walk from hotel - fantastic paella and plenty of locals there. We also ate at "La Pasquera" in the Old Town, which was also excellent.
Plenty to see and do in Marbella - shops, and you can walk for hours along the promenade towards Puerto Buanus.
Disaster after Disaster
from ELH12First of all our luggage got lost, not the hotels fault but I’ll get back to that later…..
I specified that I’d like a room with a cot as we were travelling with our 11 month old, when we got to the room, it was actually smaller than our bathroom at home, and contained 2 single beds with no space what so ever for a cot! I called down to reception and they said if we wanted a larger room we would have to pay another 50 euros per night!! Relucantly we agreed, and specified we would only pay if we had a double room that would fit a cot, the receptionist said yes it did.
When we got to the second room it was only marginally larger than the first with 2 single beds again, by this point I was really upset with having no luggage and not what we asked for so couldn’t be bothered moving again.
We then discovered that the mini bar wasn’t working, informed reception and they agreed to have it seen to, we then went out for the afternoon, when we came back still the mini bar wasn’t working, when they insisted it had been repaired. Later that evening they sent someone again to repair it then it did work.
My husband tried to have a shower that night, but it was too dangerous, it suddenly went red hot all of the time, could you imagine what would have happened if he had our Son with him??
Back to the suitcase, on Saturday evening it eventually appeared, so I asked reception if they could just do me a quick letter to say what date it arrived and at what time, they said if I go back in half an hour it would be ready. Anyway it took 3 days and I had to ask 4 times before I was told that I couldn’t have one, the hotel Manager wouldn’t allow it as its not Hotel policy!
On Sunday, as all the shops are closed, we had planned to use the indoor swimming pool and make use of the hotels facilities, we went to reception to ask where the pool was and was told it was closed for refurbishment, if I had known this at the time of booking I wouldn’t have stayed here, we were told to use the pool outside – it was raining!!!
On Monday we came to check out, I queried the bill as we didn’t get what we paid for and with all the faults and tried to negotiate a discount, as was rudely told “if you don’t pay it now I’m calling the police” I asked to see the Hotel Manager and apparently she was the Manager! Her attitude was a complete disgrace and I would advise anyone not to stay there!!
The Friendiest Place in the World!
from A TripAdvisor MemberFabulous hotel
from GlasnevinThe hotel is located right on the beach and has 2 swimming pools, gym. There is waiter service at the pool and they given come round with complimentary fresh fruit skewers in the afternoon!
Breakfast is excellent, including a glass of champagne if you wish!!
Its in a top location in marbella. I can't fault this hotel as any request we had was dealt with efficiently and professionally- I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Marbella!!!!
Brilliant
from A TripAdvisor MemberThe room was very good although we did get sight of a 'standard room' which didn't have a balcony and was fairly standard. The breakfast was very good and the staff very attentive. If I wanted to be super critical I would say there was limited choice in terms of hot food.
The hotel is ideally placed with plenty to see and do, you won't get an opportunity to get bored. I would suggest thhat the avergae of the holidaymakers was in the region of 50-60, however there were younger couples and the odd child. Don't expect loud music and lights.
Overall we were very pleased with the experience and would certainly visiit again if given the opportunity.
Good All Rounder

General meals, moderately priced, well-dressed customers-Sol de Europe, wesern end of the promenade.Puerto Banus-Picasso Pizzeria. Long queues in summer-go early.
bus from Malaga airport to Marbella Reliable bus service to and from Malaga airport to Marbella bus station about 5 euros each way. Check bus timetables online as they change from low season to high season.
