Price reasonable, location ideal, rooms basic very noisy, laundry not changed for our 4 day visit. Food very poor after visiting other 3 star Htop hotels. Bar staff polite gave good service. Certain reception staff, very poor information given.

Once again my friends and I stayed at the Planamar and can only say good things about it. It is small, personal and very friendly. The food this year was very good. We visited the 4* star hotels with the Htop scheme and the food is just the same. We like the smallness of the Planamar as you meet people, whereas in the 4* hotels they are so massive you would be lucky if you saw the same people twice.
We shall, God willing, stay at the Planamar next year so, folks, give it a try. You won't be disappointed.

The worst 3* hotel we have stayed, in the 25 years of Spanish holidays.
The food was of very poor quality; often luke warm and over or undercooked. The restaurant was cramped and like a cafe enviroment with tables set in lines, 6 inches apart.
It is advertised there is a gym, playground, ping pong - there aren't! One site reads as if all rooms have sea views. We were in that was at the back overlooking a building site.
Most of the staff were friendly but there was a rude, abrupt, unhelpful member of staff on the reception.

We have just returned from our ten day stay at the planamar hotel malgrat. it was by far the worst hotel we have stayed in. we did not have our own room for three days, the staff were unhelpful the food was plain awfol, the pool area was untidy and small for the size of the hotel, the entertainment was poor we went out most nights and spent more money. there was fighting rude behaviour the hotel management who did not seem to bother, this was our first experience of all inclusive and last avoid at all cost take a tent and ear plugs to get a good nights sleep

We stayed at the Planamar, with reservations, after the awful reviews we had read but on our arrival we were greeted with courtesy. The train which someone wrote about runs the whole length of the road in which the Planamar and many others stand, so in any hotel from Malgrat to Santa Susanna and beyond the train is there, but you get used to it. The staff were courteous and very friendly, they respond to friendliness but if you are unfriendly, it shows. As to the two drinks and queues, this is the the norm in 'all inclusives' hotels but the queues are quickly dealt with.
The rooms were adequate, big enough for two, we had three beds and used the third to stash our suitcases. The balconies were a bit small, but we managed.
With regard to the food, it wasn't cordon bleu but we never went hungry and there was always something you liked, There were about three or four meats and vegetables, pastas, dishes I didn't know, salads, a variety of sweets and fruit, so if you couldn't find something, you were very 'picky'.
With regard to noise from a disco, I can honestly say we never heard anything. The only noises were children running in the corridors and people banging doors when they could have been closed quietly.
The maids never knocked on our door at 8.30am, we left the card on our door handle to say they could clean.
There must have been a youth Football tournament whilst we were there and there were loads of youths from America, Sweden and other countries but they were well behaved and no trouble at all. I don't know what else to say except that Linda, the receptionist was helpful and pleasant in every way as was the 'Flying Dutchman' with the rest of the bar staff. The entertainers worked very hard too.
All I can add that this hotel is small compared with others but very friendly and I would recommend it to anyone. WE SHALL CERTAINLY BE BACK NEXT YEAR.

I have stayed in many hotels around Spain and other countries but this hotel was by far the worst one I was unfortunate to end up in. The pool area you had to pass through to reach reception could do with a good clean for a start. Something that did not happen while I was there and it was a while since it had been cleaned by the looks and smell of it. The rooms were tiny to say the least. The food was the worst I have ever encounted in all my years of travelling some 20 odd years. Cheap and nasty to say the least. I have never drunk out of a plastic tumbler in all my years abroasd apart from while pool side at this hotel all drinks were served up this way whether inside or out.
I would rate this hotel a one star not a three star and having looked at pictures of it on the web I now know pictures do lie as it deffinatly doesnt look any thing like how it is portraid in the brochure. Did I mention being on a busy road opposite a railway line with trains every 30 minutes. Two doors down from a disco which emptied out at 4am or 5am in the morning that was fun being wakened at that time.
My advise would be to stay somewhere else!!!

This hotel is awful, we booked an all inclusive holiday, however the food and drink was terrible so we had to eat out, when we did stay at the hotel for drinks there were extensive queues and you were only allowed to purchase 2 drink at a time, which meant you had to queue twice!
The bedrooms were tiny, there was barely any room for the beds let alone luggage. The corridors were noisey with people coming and going, the maid would insist on knocking on the door at 8.30 am to clean!
The staff were not friendly at all, in fact they were rude. The hotel was very busy, with no room to sit around the pool in the day or even sit on the so called 'terrace' at night. My advice don't go there!
