Get the Metro into the Centre of Madrid If you aren't sure about the location of your hotel, take the underground to Nuevos Ministerios station - you can't go wrong, just follow the signs for the Metro in the Arrivals Lounge. Then get a taxi from the underground station - it will save you loads of money

Train travel in Spain The Madrid Atocha station is walkable from the Tryp Atocha hotel. We traveled on the AVE (high speed trains), in first class and were delighted with the cleanliness, service, convenience and security on Spain's railways. If you have the option, take the train rather than a bus or driving oneself.
