Airport supplement on the Metro If you only have a normal Metro ticket then there is a Euro 1 supplement to pay when you arrive at the Airport Metro station to catch your departing flight. This can cause a bit of chaos as passengers try to pay their supplement via ticket machines and can lead to a lot of milling about in front of the ticket barriers. If you buy your Metro tickets when you arrive you can pay the supplement then and avoid the departure problem.

It's a decent hotel, though shows some wear. Breakfasts were next store at an adjacent hotel. It's a great location to explore the older parts of Madrid from. There are self-service laundries, great ice-cream shops, lots of cafes, etc, all close by. It's an easy walk to the main shopping street and many of the main attractions of central Madrid.
I'd recommend it but I don't think we needed all the room.
Whatever you do, avoid the 3-star rated Best Western right off the main drag, it really sucks.
