Top Local Tips for Madrid

Metro Use the metro. It is dead easy and cheap!!! Plus it is the cleanest underground I have been on in the world!! Makes London's a disgrace.

Metro The underground metro service is modern, clean, and fast but beware that the line from the Airport goes to the northern side of the city where the Ministries have a huge building. So you need to change at least once to reach any of the stops serving tourist locations. At the Airport, the one stop serves terminal TWO which means a LONG walk to Terminal ONE (used by EasyJet) or a long bus ride to Terminal 4 (used by British Airways and most intercontinental flights). Allow at least 20 mins to get to Terminal 4. and then more time within the terminal to use the underground shuttle train which takes you to the departure gates. Changing flights at Madrid may take you a LONG time.

Metrobus Fabulous value at 10 trips for just €6.40 which is just 64 cent per trip. It even can be used to get to to or from the airport with a €1 supplement. €1.64 from airport to any part of Madrid has to be outstanding value
