A very good location.
Comfortable room.
Pleasant staff.
Good meal.
Poor english speaking by the staff.
I'll consider coming back when I am in Madrid.

Top Local Tips for Madrid

Best museum The Prado is free on Sundays - and therefore very crowded. Also a confusing layout and not well lit although great collection of Spanish masters. Much better is the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum opposite - much better building, very well-presented with a marvellous collection of paintings. A delight and the highlight of our trip.

Do not go during Gay Pride Week We were in Madrid the day of the Gay Pride Parade and unless you want to be part of the parade or see the parade stay away. The bus tours end early and all the main streets are closed making it difficult to get around.

Madrid Metro The metro is really easy to use and the maps are easy to make sense of (especially if you're used to the london tube). We were a group of women and felt very safe. It's 1 euro for any journey but 10 tickets are about 6.50 euros. If there's 3 or 4 of you though, you may as well get a taxi for speed at a similar price each! However, it's really easy to walk to lots of the main places...they're closer than you'd realise.
