Top Local Tips for Madrid

Madrid Give yourself lots of time to get to the gates at Madrid airport and wear comfortable shoes as you do alot of walking.

Best time to visit Madrid Go to Madrid in late October; the temperatures drop somewhat, but it's still so pleasant. We had sunshime every day from 27th Oct to 1st Nov. At night, the air got cooler, but not that much. Still, most Madrilenos were wearing coats and boots while we sat out in t-shirts! Early summer must be lovely too. Avoid summer - no breeze whatsoever and stifling tmeperatures. Oh yes, don't bother with the Metro, just get a good map and a book like Lonely Planet Madrid. It's a small city and very accesible on foot.
