Firstly when we arrived at the original Hotel into which we were booked we were told that the Air Conditioning was broken and that we would have to be relocated in a sister hotel around the corner. True enough , it was close by and was ideally located very close to the Plaza Major. The rooms were modern and clean, if a little small. Generally our stay there was fairly uneventful and satisfactory until the last day when, the reception staff failed to order the shuttle bus for us to the airport. They had told us they had ordered it, but it then transpired that they had forgotten. We then made arrangements with them to have a taxi ordered which they would pay for as it was their fault we had no transport in the first place. However when the taxi arrived the Hotel refused to pay! As you can imagine, as this was our last memory of the Hotel Prime Cliper it left us with a rather colored view of it. And indeed I would certainly not be recommending it to anyone on this basis.

Top Local Tips for Madrid

The Santiago Bernabeu A trip to the home of Real Madrid is a must. For about £10 you get to walk around the whole stadium, including the museum, the upper tiers, pitch side, the dugout, the directors box and the changing rooms. A very very worthwhile experience for anyone who likes football and even for those that don't it's a great day out.
