Perfect Location To Visit Madrid.

Except for the non-availability of an in-house parking, the hotel is perfect for the traveler interested in visiting Madrid. Right in the center of town and nevertheless quiet rooms at night (even street-side rooms). I recommend this hotel to anybody who wants to visit Madrid.

Top Local Tips for Madrid

Go for the menu del dia For a really good value with the midday meal, go for the menu del dia that most places offer. It usually includes wine, bread, a complete meal (usually a handful of choices are posted at each place, and can include a couple of meat/poultry choices and seafood ones), and possibly a small dessert. You can get away for less than 15 euros usually, having had a two hour, three course meal. Bonus tip: don't bring your plastic water bottle and set it on the table of any restaurant. Just trust me - it's bad form in Spain, because it suggests that you can't drink the water at their establishment. Just pack the plastic bottles away before you enter or are seated.

City Break We had two days and a half to explore - we needed another day to fully justify all that we would like to have done. So allow three full days - we will have to return, and will!

The city itself Even if you don't venture into the wonderful Prado and Museum of Modern Art, you won't be disappointed. Madrid is one of the cleanest and nicest looking cities I've ever visited. There is almost no tasteless architecture and the general apprearence on the streets is excellent. A pleasure just to walk around in. Madrid shows the rest of the world how a city ought to be run.
