Top Local Tips for Madrid

Don't stay close to the airport hotel for an early departure We decided to stay close to the ariport because we had an early flight and the Metro starts only at 06:00. Cab fare from downtown was 25 EUR, and cabs were difficult to get at that time (we were told). So we were very surprised that cab from the airport hotel was 19 EUR - no saving, and the hotel was not as good and more expensive.

Museo del Prado The Museo del Prado has been renovated, with the addition of a large modern wing, which has freed up space in the old building - one of the truly outstanding art museums of the world and a "can't miss" attraction in Madrid.

Don´t get overtired. Take enough time for Madrid you can´t do that in just a couple of days. The longer you stay, the more you can do in a relaxed way.
