On arrival, we were told we were on the top floor and had to carry cases and pram up the stairs as the lift didn't work. The staff were very friendly. I only really had two complaints 1) all guests with babies etc were put on the top two floors where all singles were put on the bottom floors 2) on the thursday we had a storm and rain came not dripping but running through our light we went to inform them. The guy came upstairs, went away and came back with towels for me and my partner to clean up the water, no sign of him disconnecting the light or anything. My sincere review is lloret de mar is a beautiful place, but look else where before looking at las mariposas .

Unexpected.. underated!!

I came back from staying at this hotel! and was VERY impressed! the room was very clean an tidy! The staff were amazing! It's really close to fenals beach which is much better than Lloret in my opinion! Cleaner water and not as many people! Not much to do activity wise though! The hotel staff were very nice! Clean towels every other day and the rooms cleaned then too! The only downside was the pool was extremely cold! and the walls are a little thin! Our neighbours were very loud the one night! Couldnt have been more wrong after reading some of the reviews! Glad we stayed at the mariposas and will probably do so again!

I must admit 2 reviews above did not tell the truth !!!! The staff was excellent and bent over backwards to help you. Sally ,Alberto and the Spanish lady in charge were very nice. when rowdy people made a noise 1am to 2am it was suddenly stopped by the staff, so i think the bad views above were "the rowdy lot". The food was bloody gorgeous!! we really enjoyed ourselves and who needs a 5 star hotel when uve got las mariposas.. if you read this Sally thank you for the laughs..Tony x

Worst service ever

I was absolutely appauled at the service of Las Mariposas, don't believe a word of what others say. Although the resort in itself was fine, we were left without clean sheets and towels for two weeks despite asking and the fridge constantly leaked. On top of this, the customer service was dreadful, when served undercooked burgers containing a meat which was not disclosed, we were met with rudeness and aggressive language upon complaining. The barman then slated us to other gueats and threatened to kick us out aswell as giving a drunk guest the skeleton key and told what room number we were in. Also, the owners children splashed and swore at us repeatedly despite us informing the parents but we left with no apology. Finally the barman punched another guest for absolutely no reason because quite frankly he was constantly drunk. So yes although the room and pool were standard and we expected nothing more, we did expect basic politeness and customer service. Unfortunately we were met rudeness and verbal agression and made to feel uncomfortable in our own hotel. We were never given an apology.

Bad Service and Staff

On first entrance to our room, are fridge was broken, which then we had to use our towels to mop up the mess which were not replaced with clean ones until we asked. We would of had the same sheets for 2 weeks if we had not of asked for clean ones. On ordering food from the restraunt we recieved pink burgers. The memebers of staff were using threating language against my party of girls, and was asking other guest for our room numbers. Also staff children who used the pool during the day were swearing at us when we were sun bathing by the pool. It was the worse service i have ever had from a hotal, and would no recommend this hotel to anyone. we were made to feel uncomfortable and hated in our own hotel.

Great Hotel - Pity about the resort

The hotel was super, the accomodation was basic but spacious and very well presented! Would recommend the Las Mariposas for a good, friendly base! The resort was vile! Never have i stayed in such a crap location with so little going on, it took almost a whole two days to partake of all the activities that were offered. The only good thing about the resort was its proximity to Barcelona, even then you'd be best staying in Barcelona itself!

Six Scottish girls stayed at the Las Mariposas for a week in June. The apartments were described at one star so we were expecting really basic. We were pleasantly surprised. There were four of us in one room and the space was big enough. The rooms were really big and we had a very cool pool view! There was a decent sized kitchen area with toaster, cooker, microwave etc. The pool side bar was very good and cooked everything from breakfasts to paella!! And it didn't matter what time we crawled down to the pool, six of us could always get a sunlounger together. The only downside when we stayed was the apartments were full of either Germans or Dutch! Going out there are lots of places to eat and drink nearby. I would recommend Restaurant America just to see lovely Antonio the waiter!! If you want a mad night head down to the main resort (the apartments are situated in the Fenals area of Lloret de Mar). This took us half an hour down the (very busy!!) main street to get to (it's cool to take a drink down with you). When you get there you have the usual pubs and clubs with various offers to entice you in. We had a memorable night in Rockerfellas with twenty six welsh boys on a stag do!! There are lots of things to do during the day. We had a great day out on a booze cruise - great weather, good looking pirates and free champagne sangria!! All in all, we had a great time - we have the skint knees and bruises to prove it!!

Brilliant value for money

I have not long come back from staying at the Las Mariposas for a week with my boyfriend Sean and it was the best hol we have been on so far. For the cheap price we paid we weren't expecting much but the apartments were very clean and spacious it had a nice clean pool area with sun loungers, a bar with all the latest drinks and nice food, pool tables, internet cafe, space hockey and fruit machines we were really pleasantly surprised. Also the staff were really friendly especially Alberto who made an effort to talk to everyone, at night he used to get all the children laughing doing tricks and wearing silly wigs. Just a real nice place and not far from the centre either. Cya's all in again May!!!!!
