Arrived to find vomit in the reception. No sleep for 7 days due to drunks, and people shagging in the next room. Food tasted like pigswill. Will never go there again !!!!!!

the hotel was very nice rooms quiet small staff very friendly food was nae bad but could have been better; the bad thing about it was the busy road right outside the hotel, if ever in lloret you have to visit Bravehearts bar great family bar brilliant atmosphere as we watched Scotland beat France magic score. Nae sure about going back in Oct as weather was a bit dodgy.

We have just returned from the Htop hotel and although it is 4* I feel they need to review their all inclusive section. Basically the food is lovely and plentiful, My husband eats all meat, the kids eat white meat and eggs and I am a veggie so we are probably quite hard to cater for but the hotel did this successfully. The all inclusive drinks situation is not good. You are given a card which allows 2 drinks on each card the drinks are small and if you have a family you may be toing and froing to the bar all day to keep everyone happy. there were two family bars and an adult bar but not all them opened in the morning. Only breakfast had self serve drinks and at Lunch and Dinner there was a tiny bar serving the whole hotel in the restaurant so you can imagine the queue. This is before you get your meal - you are not allowed to take drinks from or into the restaurant so you must get them from the little bar. You must be fully dressed to eat at meal times which is fine but they also make you get dressed to go and eat in the snack bar which is ludicrous if you have family and just want a butty. Again no drinks in snack bar so you must queue at another bar and take your drink into the snack bar oh yes you are not allowed to take food out of the snack bar you must eat in fully dressed. Can you imagine how this was with a 3 year old and 1 year old. Staff are helpful and the hotel is spotless. Bars shut at 1 so not too loud - hotel is on a major road though so traffic and noise outside is quite bad. Expect a cattle market at mealtimes as everyone rushes into the two hour slot and although majority are civilised and queue alot push in and grab. Don't expect any manners from ANYONE in this hotel it is unbelievable how rude people are I wouldn't return and I certainly wouldn't pay £1400 again for all inclusive

Just got back from a holiday here, couldn't wait to get home! We originally were at the Royal Star but got a move as we were 6 floors up and in a double room. With 2 young kids this was not ideal, so we moved to the Star. The staff were very nice and helpfull. The hotel was fine and clean as were the rooms. The linnen was changed every day. The two outdoor pools were passable, the main pool being easier for kids to use as the back pool went from 1.5 m to 2.85 m very quickly even a strong swimmer like myself was shocked. The main pool was a bit crowded and the entertainment was feeble. The meals were ....crap. Sack the chef. It was the same rubbish day in day out. Even when you entered the resturant you got a whiff of fish. My son went for 7 days eating fruit as he could not stomach this swill. No kids menu. Rabbit, Squid, Veal, Unfilleted Mackrell how can a 3 yr old eat this, even I struggeld, infact I didnt. We went out for a few meals. The indoor pool was also stinking. The evenings entertainment was woefull, especailly in the small bar. I had a good time in Lloret and the rest of my family also and the hotel in general was ok but some asspects must be improved on to keep the 4 stars.

Sunshine Holiday

Recently returned from 11 days at Royal Star. This was a family holiday with 4 adults and two young children aged 6 and 3. Twin room was fine but 'family room' was a twin with 2 extra beds (wall to wall beds). We later discovered just before we left that a family room was indeed two rooms, one for adults and another for the children. The hotel itself was very clean and the staff very nice. The pool area was very crowded but it was high season and the kids splash pool was great for the children. The other pool at the back was not so good as it had a very steep dip and we didn't think it was very safe for young children or poor swimmers even the kids splash pool was not as good as the other one. The food - well what can I say!!! OK for the first two or three nights but after that it was really boring although nicely presented. It would have been good for the children if there had been a kids menu or buffet. We did eat out several times as there are lots of nice restaurants and cafes. The weather was the icing on the cake as it was sunny and hot every day. I like Spain but next time we go on a family holiday we'll rent a Villa(it will probably be much cheaper).

Royal Star Hotel **

This has got to be the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. The staff was nice but the hotel atmosphere itself was totally boring not to mention seriously sad. It was full of older people and the entertainment was awful. Music was disgraceful and we were entertained by a over weight lady dancing on the dance floor, she was drunk and the site was sick. Do not expect to sleep because it is full of drunks and disorderly northerners and be aware you can hear the person next door to you going to the toilet as the walls are so thin. Food was disgusting I ended up eating out every night even though we didn’t have to pay for the hotel meal I’d rather pay £50 for a burger than eat there. Other than that when I wasn’t at the hotel the actual town itself is wicked. If you happen to end up in this hotel don’t let it put you off Spain because that’s what it did to me. Will not be going to royal star again.

I have just returned from a 4 night stay at the royal star and will be in no hurry to go back at all. During our stay we found the hotel more like a 1 or poss2 star than the 4 it has it was very noisy at all hours of the night the food wasnt very good most of the plates were badly chipped and to top it all during our stay someone was arrested by the police every night. there were also lots of thefts from rooms mainly it seems from the staff as patio doors were unlocked by the maids there is a gym with broken equipment and a steam room without steam even though it had been booked on the plus side the food didnt make us ill and there was entertainment every night and as long as you are prepared for the lack of sleep it is a cheap few days away possibley more for single sex groups rather than families. One thing that it did show me was exactly what was meant by the BRITS ABROAD.

I came here with my large familly, there were 8 of us including myself. It was almost perfect, in the morning everyone was lively which was fantastic and at night there were still people up but it was nothing to keep you awake. The staff enjoyed to talk, back here in england none of the adults trust or like kids but the staff there spoke to me and my cousin (same age) like we were their age and it was one of the highlights!
