Wonderful holiday at Natura Palace

from SarahOmaha
We just returned from a 7 day holiday at Natura Palace to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and our choice of accomodations.

The rooms were spacious and of a very high standard, and having booked a junior suite we had the pleasure of enjoying a massive balcony with 3 sunbeds and a table and chairs, with views of both the pool and the ocean. Additionally the room had a large bathtub with jets which was a nice added touch. The housekeeping staff did an excellent job, as our rooms was always immaculate and cleaning was generally completed by the time we returned from breakfast.

My only complaint on booking a luxury accomodation is that the bedroom consisted of two twin beds placed next to one another instead of a double or king size bed. This is not that convenient when you are trying to enjoy a romantic holiday.

The food was very nice and of a good variety. There were always several meats available to have cooked in front of you, and a variety of other selections as well. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful.

The Thomson holiday reps Hannah and Jake were wonderful. We booked a couple of excursions with them as well as did a couple on our own. They were always available to give directions, recommend a nice restaurant, or just answer any questions that we had.

We enjoyed the Brazilian dance show at the hotel, although the crowd was of an older age group and did not show much enthusiasm.

The pools were lovely and plenty of sunbeds were always available. I would have preferred a hot jacuzzi, as the jacuzzi there is only the same temperature as the pools.

All in all a lovely holiday. I do recommend hiring a car as you can see the whole island and if you book online like we did we rented a Peugot with air-conditioning for only 115 euro for the entire week.

Try the scuba diving, the folks at the next door dive college are wonderful.

Excellent

Stayed at the Natura Palace for two weeks, the hotel itself is impressive but may be a little far out of the resort centre of Playa Blanca for some, taxis are plentiful and cheap. 20 minute walk along the coastal path takes you past shops, restaurants, and beaches into the resort centre. Food at the hotel was good, plentiful and fresh, show cooking every evening and breakfast buffet freshly cooked for you, a word of warning though the coffee is lousy!! Trip to recommend is the Catamaran, good food, plenty of drink, fantastic staff and a brilliant way to spend the day, snorkels provided. All in all I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again, the rooms were large and well kept, staff were friendly and in a quiet part of the resort but within walking distance.

great place to stay

from actros802
Stayed at the Natura palace for our 25th anniversary, couldnt have picked a better place, no rowdy drunks, no yobbos , just peace and quiet all day and night, dont come here thinking "evening entertainment", very average but at least they try, bar upstairs has a pianist most nights but i think it is a robot, if you want atmosphere and fun, forget it, but if peace and quiet is your thing you could not do better, the pools are clean but cold, the bars are very well priced and if you book drinks to your room they seem to forget a lot of the charges ?? staff were great to us , food not brilliant but well cooked and always diferent, free "champagne" with dinner and breakfast!! always spotlessly clean and treat your missus/girlfriend to a pamper session, my wife loved it.

Fabulous hotel

Have just arrived home after a wonderful 7 day stay at the Natura Palace.
Everywhere was immaculate.inside and outside in the grounds. The hotel staff were great and couldn't be more helpful. Food was delicious with plenty of variety, some queues in the restaurant at the most popular times (7.30 - 8.00 in the evening) but the restaurant staff did their best to seat everyone as quickly as possible. Our suite was very clean and comfortable, could do with coffee and tea making facilities though. The views from the balcony were lovely over -looking the sea and Fuerteventura. Weather wasn't too good whilst we were there, when the sun did get through the cloud it was very hot but we still had the wind to contend with. The entertainment was passable and finished by 10.30 - 11 p.m. Nice leisurely walks into Playa Blanca ( about 30 mins) along a prommenade if you feel like some exercise! Would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a relaxing holiday without the yob element to spoil it!

OK hotel

from JAS7578
Just come back from a 7 day stay. Excellent views and weather The hotel is situated in a quiet part of the island and first impressions are very impressive.
There were very few local amenities. After a few days it was necessary to hire a car.(rented from the foyer of the nearby Rubicon Hotel, good service with immediate rental. returned keys after hire to Natura Palace). The Port area is like being at any UK ferry port but with sun.

The hotel housekeeping is of a good standard and every where was clean and fresh looking, however we had a ground floor room and suffered with ants. Our room had the worst bed I had slept on anywhere It was very hard and not comfortable at all.

The Hotel staff advised that this was the only type of matress in the whole hotel and gave us extra blankets to put on top of the matress to pad it out abit. Was not a perfect solution.

the television is very much geared to the Germans leaving only Sky news and BBC world for English guests.

The food was plentiful but despite this some nights very little choice for my 14 year old. There is no where to buy food or a snack after the evening meal unless you go into Playa Blanca. It is forbidden, but take some bread rolls from the restaurant along with butter and cheese for a late night snack. Also take a travel kettle as no rooms have them.

Staff in the main were very attentive and appeared to do their best to help.

If you are using Playa Blanca's only taxi service for your return to the airport, allow extra time. We ordered one, it was 20 mins late and flight was early. Arrived at the airport in time for the last call. The hotel staff say that the taxi company often forget to collect you.

I usually book hotels and flights direct on the internet or by phone, this was the first package trip I had been on. in my opinion this gave less flexibilty and the bonus of having a "rep" on site really did not enhance my holiday at all. Apart from the hotel baggage check in on the return journey they offered nothing that I could not get myself.

Once you navigate your way through these minor difficulties this is a very pleasant way to spend a week I would probably return to the Hotel but ask for a room away from the Ground floor.

Lovely Hotel

A beautiful and expansive hotel, well maintained with all services being excellent, and the airport check in, is a plus! it deserves its rating on this alone. The only drawbacks as I see it, and this is from my own personal requirements and observations are as follows.

1 Parents appear to absolve themselves from any responsibility for their childrens actions while at the hotel, especially during the period of the hotels evening entertainment. these little ankle biters tend to run amuk in front of the visiting acts. This tends to ruin the evening for the other guests.
I would not go back to this hotel purely for this reason.

2 No entertainment on Sundays, except for a piano player in the main foyer. Dancing to canned music wouldn't go amiss for guests wishing to participate in this form of exercise.

3 The evening entertainment part of the complex is closed during the day.
Nothing to keep the guests occupied during the day if the weather turns nastie. I would like to see a resident band in a complex of this size.

Note:- I think a trip to the Los Gigantes Hotel in Tenerife by a member of the hotel management would reap its own rewards. just to see how they work when the weather is inclement, in keeping the guests entertained.

Good quality hotel which will appeal to some but not others

This is a very good hotel. The decor and furnishings throughout are of a high standard. From what I could make out nearly all bedrooms have a spectacular sea view over to Fuerventura. You can catch the ferry to Fuerventura from the port in Playa Blanca and the do the return trip in a day.

The houskeeping standards at the hotel are high and as a consequence it is spotlessly clean. Reception staff are helpful speaking good English. Food in the restaurant is buffet style and is above average for a Spanish hotel with a very good range of choice. My only gripe is with the waiters who seem pretty clueless (getting them to serve you with drinks can be a problem, they get the orders mixed up and in the outside pool bar forget to give your change so put it on your room bill). It is hard to get annoyed with them as they are pleasant and they are no worse than any of the other waiters in the resort.

Most people staying here are over 50 with a scattering of Mums and Dads with young children. So be warned the nightlife is not going to be great but then most people are not expecting that. Many people seem to have been here before which is always a good sign.

You need to like walking at this hotel. For some that is a plus but for others it may be a problem. If you don't like walking you will be spending around 3 or 4 euros on taxi fares to get to the centre of the resort.

For those who like a stroll. By turning left out of the hotel grounds at the rear by the swimming pool it takes about 15 minutes to walk along a very pleasant promenade to the nearest shops and bars and a further 15 minutes to walk to the centre of Playa Blanca where there are more shops etc. On the same route it will take up to an hour from the hotel to walk to the new marina area which promises to be very upmarket when it gets going with boutigue shops, cafes and restaurants (try Lani's bistro for very good inexpensive tapas). You can even walk further on the promenade up on the cliffs for very good views over to Papagayo.

The beaches at Papagayo are probably the best on the island. It is possible to walk all the way there if you are up to it (good trainers needed as the path is unmade beyond the last hotel). Most will head there by car on a very passable but unmade track. Slightly bizarre is the cafe/ restaurant stuck out in the middle of nowhere in Papagayo.

By turning right out of the hotel you can walk to the lighthouse along the promenade and then an unmade path. It only takes about 15 minutes one way.

If you are with Thomson's including Portland Direct use the check in facility at the hotel for your return journey. You need to let the rep know a few days before your departure that you want to use it. It allows you to get your boarding pass and check in your luggage at the hotel saving you a lot of hassle at the airport and allowing you to get there much later than usual. The next time you see your luggage is in the UK. A brillant service. I'm told they may have to withdraw this service in the summer. A great pity.

Almost the perfect Hotel!

Third visit this year, love the place. Cannot wait for another stay.
If you are looking for somewhere to relax without the rif raf and rowdies, which appear standard around most hotel pool areas these days, then this is the place for you. Really is a wonderful relaxing hotel.
The only draw back is the entertainments hall gets really smokey in the
evenings and therefore is a no no for asthmatics or anyone who doesn't like stinking like an ashtray.

DIRE

We thought we had booked into a retirement complex - if you are over 65 you'll love it here, for the younger element it has no appeal whatsoever!
Entertainment finishes at 10.30 and most of the acts are so amateurish its laughable.
Staff are surly and unhelpful - their favourite expression is "It's not possible" to every request!

Ignore the moaners

from A TripAdvisor Member
After booking a 2 week holiday at the Natura palace (It was our 2nd trip to Lanzarote) We discovered this site where visiters to the same hotel could leave there comments.

Some of the comments left us concerned that we had made a mistake booking the Natura Palace hotel for our holiday, there were plenty of other hotels we considered booking, our thoughts were O well we have booked it now so we are stuck with it we will just have to make the most of it.

On arriving at the hotel we were more than pleased at the visual appearance of the building and the setting, it took us only a few hours to settle in to the relaxed feeling of having a fantastic holiday

Some things were not 100% but we certanly found nothing to spoil our holiday or to moan about.

We certainly disagree with most of the comments other guests have posted, some were correct but not bad enough to spoil any holiday the staff were very good and prepaired to help in any way they could to help have a good holiday.

We took 2 evening trips one to see the Drag show the other the the Rancho Texas (brill for kids) a bit expensive but enjoyed both.

The hotel certainly is worth considering if you are looking for good relaxing laid back holiday.

We certanly cannot wait for a return visit.

The airport check in at the hotel when returning home is Brilliant.
