Why are you going to Jaen Just becasue you never heard of a place does not mean it is small. I suppose there was a day when Jaen when small and charming, but now it is large and mostly industrial. There is an old town with a monster cathedral, but frankly, if we had it to do over again, we would have spent anothe day in Seville.

The path to the town from the parador Don't trust your guidebook if it tells you there is a pathway to walk into town in 45 mins from the Parador it just doesn't exist, the only way to walk is along the road. A taxi is only 4 Euros so well worth it.
