Maps Get a good map, especially if you're staying in the Albayzin with all the little roads (avoid the Michelin map as you need lots of detail about the city centre). And don't think you can rely on a GPS system as a great many of the many tiny roads aren't covered, by Tom Tom at least.

Alhambra You should try to book your tickets to the Alhambra ahead of time. If you don't you can go stand in line,(1-2 Hours) and should be able to get a ticket. If you don't want to go in, you should still go up and walk around this amazing Castle/Fortress

Taxi from the airport Make sure you negotiate the tax rates at the airport. The taxis in Barcelona were metered, so I let my guard down when we arrived at Granada airport. The taxis from the airport to Granada are not metered, and the official rate is 25 euros, though you can get charged for the number of bags. We were charged 33 euros because we didn't know about the government-set rates and other rules. I wouldn't tip any non-metered taxis, seeing that drivers of those taxis tend to include tips in the fares they quote you.
