I had a nice stay at the hotel Alixares, because the room was clean. Though the television was not working very well. Furthermore the information which was given by the reception was not clear or sufficient. Not everybody understood English and no any extra attention was given to the me as a guest. Do not want to put a bad note her but maybe good to know and something to improve to make you guests really satisfied in the future.

Excellent Hotel, has 4 Star on sign outside, and it certainly was by Spains normal stadard. Brilliant pool, caught the sun alll day. Lovely walk passed the Alhambra into the town centre. Service and food very good, and Granada is a fabulous city, with the hundreds of Tapas bars and restuarants, all topped off by the Alhambra.

Top Local Tips for Granada

32 bus The local buses are frequent and cheap at e1 per trip, the no 32 will take you up from Plaza Nueva to the Alhambra and back, and also round the old arab quarter (Albaicin) where you will find the mirador St Nicolas (the driver will call out if you ask for the stop by name when boarding ), a popular cobbled square beside the church, with a famous view of the Alhambra framed by the Sierra Nevada mountains, at its best as the sun goes down. There are also other pretty little squares and winding lanes best explored in daylight.

Use the open top bus Open top bus tickets last 24 hours so the best time is start after luch and have another bash next morning if you feel like it.

visit Go to monastery of St Jeronimo. 5 mins walk from cathedral. Opens from 4.00pm in afternoon well worth short walk.
