Top Local Tips for Granada

Alhambra and San Nicolas Plan on arriving at Ahambra early and do your tour around 10 to avoid crowds - and spend lots of time in the Palace of Nazaries - and admire the beauty and detail. Do not miss the walk up to San Nicolas (if you don't have heart trouble coz of the steepness of the walk) and the enjoying the view of the Alhambra right across the hill. I do not recommend a guide in Granada - read a couple of books on Spain and you will cover all there is in Granada. Also, walk up and down the streets of Albacin (preferably in daytime) and you will make interesting discoveries.

Alhambra tips Book Alhambra tickets online as far in advance as possible. Before visiting Alhambra, walk up to San Nicolas (Plaza San Nicolas) for a great view of Alhambra – gives you a good overview and an idea of the scale of the place. The timing on the ticket relates to the entry to Palacios Nazaries – allow minimum 1 hour before this time to have a look around at the other buildings (or afterwards). Additional time for the gardens. More time the better - it's an amazing place

Giude books We used the Time Out Guide to Sevelle and Adalucia which was excellent all round, especially for out of the way Tapas bars where Spanish people ate.
