Top Local Tips for Granada
Alhambra Tickets I was in Granada at the end of April/beginning of May 2008. I highly reccomend buying your tickets online BEFORE you get to Granada. I think you have to book 2 weeks ahead. Day 1 - I got there at 7:30am.There are two seperate lines...one for credit card and one for cash. You must know the pin number for your credit card. The credit card line moved WAY faster than the cash line. It doesn't seem that there is a minimum number of tickets on sale each day. This day there were 350 tickets for the morning and 450 tickets for the afteroon. Needless to say I didn't get a ticket that day. The next day i got there at 6am and just barely got a ticket. There were only 150 for the morning and 250 for the afternoon. Buy your ticket before you get here to avoid dissapointment. Don't miss the Alhambra!!
Granadas crazy schedule and new foods! I've been living in Granada for two monthes now and im still getting used to their crazy schedule. Live like they do! ***** 9:00 am Breakfast- tostada con tomate y cafe con leche (toasted baguette with crushed up tomatos and coffee with milk) ****** 2:00 pm Lunch - EAT BIG! try paella, my favorite is the verdura (vegetables) ****** 4:00 pm Siesta - shops close from 2:30 - 5:30 so you mindaswell sleep anyways. ****** 9:30pm Dinner- don't even eat out, just get tapas! if you're not a picky eater try a tapas place that just gives you their house specialties with each drink. If you happen to be picky (like me) opt for a bar that has a menu where you can chose the tapas! (extra hint: Granadas ham, olives, and chickpeas are to die for!) ***** if you still want more at 3am clubs open up, I suggest Camboria
taxi Taxi to airport was 25 euros. About a 25 minute ride. Well worth it. Skip the bus.
