On the plus side is the location, up away from the bustle of the city, close to the Alhambra Palace and gardens and with a wonderful view (provided you have been given a room at the front, overlooking the city).
On the down side--- where to begin? Anything positive you may read about this place has probably been written by or on behalf of the hotel itself. Fanciful claims that this is a luxurious hotel, one of the best in Europe etc etc -- DO NOT BELIEVE THEM !! They are, at best, misplaced delusions of grandeur, otherwise downright misleading. OK, the entrance is flash, the view is nice but beyond that, this hotel is a real disappointment. The bedrooms are pokey, the bathrooms are utilitarian and the decor is tired and shabby. As to service, this is essentially "take it or leave it" and the food is frankly awful (where else have you found an egg floating in the fruit juice dispenser at breakfast?).
This place represents terrible value for money. If you're easily impressed and happy to waste your money--go ahead, book. Likewise , if your idea of heaven is fighting your way through hordes of shouting wedding guests who pack the place every weekend . Ditto, if you like eating breakfast (lkept warm meatballs, stale croissant, processed ham, powdered fruit juice--I kid you not!!) in a tired, stuffy dining room (amazingly, breakfast out on the terrace is strictly prohibited!!!). Otherwise, stay away. Better to go for the Hotel America or the Paradore (although that too suffers from ideas above its (at best 3 star) status), both of which areup in the Alhambra complex itself. Or better still, go for one of the more modest hotels down in the city and take a taxi up the hill to see the view!

Top Local Tips for Granada

Nice train ride from Sazana to Branik village and on to Nova Gorica Do not take the bus. Take the train. For about 3 Euros you can do the most spectaclular train ride through the Wine Country and Carst.

Rains very hard and has warm weather like the SE USA If you happen to be going to another area, Drive thru the valley, have a drink at the pub and travel on quickly!

Train to Branik from Venice It's an easy train ride from Venice to Monfalcone, which is the closest station to Branik.
