Problem area Avoid the area by the beach/promenade beween the yacht club and the back of the Town Hall after dark. it seems to be a bit of a meeting place for junkies, and we felt quite threatened there (actually, this was before it had even got dark!). San Sebastian attracts all kinds of people, and in some parts it's especially useful to be self-aware and have your wits about you.

Tapas There are multitudes of great tapas bars in the old town and you could just spend the night roaming fro one to another having a beer and tapas in each one. Fantastic
