I went to stay at the hotel Sol Costa Dorada in May last year (05). I went with my boyfriend both aged 18. I would say the hotel is for all ages but not suitable for an all girls or lads holiday as it's a quite, family type hotel. The hotel was very clean, the staff very friendly in the restaurant but not so much on the front desk. The weather was nice not too hot and the hotels about a 5 min walk to main town and 5 min walk to the theme park. I'm a very fussy eater, I only eat foods like burger and chips but the hotel was very good as I managed to eat a different meal each night which was very nice, so the hotel caters for all. Overall I would say I would definitely go back to salou & the hotel Sol Costa Dorada.

Top Local Tips for Salou

Seasonal Resort-shuts in winter Like most spanish tourist resort, Salou is seasonal and shuts in winter (October-April/May). Iv been to several Spanish resorts 'out of season' but Salou was by far the quietest. 99% of bars, restuarants and shops were shut. We struggled to find places to eat and drink. We were not particulatry looking for a busy holiday, but as the same time I was surprised by how little was open. I wouldnt reccomend going to Salou out of season- there is literally nothing to do.

Holidaying in Winter Don't expect things to be open otherwise you'll be disappointed. It is very quiet, but peaceful. For more to do, catch the frequent bus to Barcelona, or do as we did, and walk up the beach to Cambrils where there was a bit more to do.

hotel savings Always book far in advance because the best price hotels sell out 1st, I have tried to re book this hotel and it's sold out now for the next month!
