This was our second year running at the Port Aventura Hotel, near Salou. It is affiliated to the Universal Studios Theme Park and the costof our holiday included daily dmission to the theme park, just five minutes walk. The main clientele were Spanish and they would visit the theme park during the day, leaving the giant free flowing pool empty and mostly occupied by a few British guests. We would visit the park during the evening.The food was on a buffet basis with more select restaurants at extra cost, and was both varied and plentiful.
I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to all families. One of the main benefits was the short distance from Reus airport( 10 mins approx.)
The rooms were on the small side but kept clean and tidy.

Top Local Tips for Salou

What Taxi's Could never get a taxi, so used the buses instead, much better and more frequent.

Something for all ages The park takes about 2 hours to walk around without going on anything so wear walking shoes. There are rides for everyone. WE went in May and queued for no longer than 30 minutes for anything but weekends are obviously busier because all the SPanish arrive but be warned that they try and push in but we did not encounter any major problems. Small children can go on a lot of rides with parents and the staff at the park are extremely strict with height restrictions so only go on what they are tall or small enough to go on otherwise the staff will turn you away. There is plenty of restaurants and all different foods and large fruit stalls around for all types of edible foods.

say no!!! shopkeepers in salou are very pushy,they kept trying to get the kids to try things on.if youre really not interested then just say no.having said that you can sometimes get a bargain
