Can I start by saying that the Dorada Palace was perfect and my children had the best time with lots to do and a mini disco every night. Salou it self was rather a let down. I was not told by the rep that pick pockets were so rife in the area and being from London I am always cautions to say the least.. The long and short of it is that I had my Pocket picked twice and spoke to many others who had been through the same thing.. I also experence 6 attempts to seriously short change me,althouh I must add this was always by the younger bar staff ect who really didnt seem to like the English that much. that said if your not going out after 1am you will not experence any of this and the general people of Salou are friendly and inviting.

A fine Hotel, spotless, towels changed daily and room cleaned, however it was very noisy at night. Had dinner there one night, not very impressed. Have stayed in other hotels with better facilities for children, would not rate it as a family plus hotel as advertised by falcon.

I found this one of the best hotels that i've stayed in for a long time... Rooms cleaned daily, hotel spotless. Love the idea of an adult only pool however had my baby son 9 months was unsure of small pool.... would of like a pool where he could sit in. We stayed half board, found the food selection fabulous something for everyone 8/10

This hotel definitly ranks 4*,rooms are spotless,towels and sheets changed daily,reception staff very friendly,cleaning maids friendly,hotel lobby spotless,toilets spotless,pool spotless,meals superb,chefs friendly.BUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!The barstaff are an absoloute waste of space.They are ignorant,nasty,sourfaced,grumpy,stupid and should not be put before the public.They will treat you and your kids like 2nd class citizens, these barmen have absoloutely no social skills at all.My 7 year old son even complained, he waited 40 minutes on a lolly.Jesus was nice,he smiled,he joked,he laughed all the kids loved him....He was the bar manager..huh..I know this probably wont be published as a review. But Dorada Palace managment you get my picture.What are you doing?? You are SO CLOSE to having the full package. Your missing the important one. Would love to give you 10/10 but the lack of common courtesy and smiles from the barstaff just hold me back.. Disgruntled customer.......

We have been to this hotel 4 times an every time it just gets better an better. The staff are great & very helpful. The location is great an the food is fantastic. The hotel is also very clean.

I would definately recommend this hotel to other tourists. It is a very clean place with beautiful food and great service. I only ever watched the entertainment one night and what I saw of it was good. Its about a 15-15 minute walk from Port Aventura. Admission to Port Aventura available in one day and three day passes. We opted for the three day passes so we could spend a day in the water park as well as time in the theme park.

Top Local Tips for Salou

port aventura watch the shows. there is more to the theme park than just the rides. Even a nice relaxin day at the water park costa cariba is worthwhile.

port aventura and a trip to barcelona is a must buy your ticket to portaventura before you go as it works out dearer when you get there

local buses the local bus service between resorts is very cheap and frequent and the bus drivers are very helpful, just keep a few loose euros rather than notes handy.
