Historical Traveller Reviews of Villa de Benidorm Hotel
is this the same hotel?

I have looked at the reviews on this site and cannot believe it is the same hotel. I thought it was very expensive. My party was 2 adults and 1 teenager and it cost me over £2,000. We were sold the holiday on the understanding that my son would have a separate room. (my son is not my partners - who went on the holiday with us) This could have been very embarrasing as my son actually slept on a sofa in our bedroom. This small sofa bed was actually the bed for the 3rd and 4th persons . Imagine if you had taken elderley parents the bed was tiny and very low to the floor and in our room!. There was no balcony (this is where the sofa bed is) it used to be the balcony but the hotel have double glazed it and made it into an extra bit of room) There was no-where to dry towels or swimming costumes. The pull towel rail over the bath didnt work. There were no drawers at all in the room, surprising as we were told the hotel had been updated. There was only 7 coathangers in the wardrobe for what could have been 4 adults. We asked lots of times but none appeared. We found the rooms really noisy as people insist on slamming doors all the time.
The rep Leon was great really helpful.
The food in the hotel was nice, plenty of choice and hot. However we were sold the holiday as all inclusive but had to pay for drinks after 1am. Lots of people were annoyed about that. We also found the staff to be quite surley but once it got past 1am they became very helpful (possibility of a tip??).Also the free ice creams were watery ice pops.
The animacion girl had the music on full blast round the pool. This was not very relaxing, people asked the management to have a word and it was turned down for a short while then back up. The pool drained outwards so all your belongings got wet if you left them under your sunbed. There were some raised tiles around the pool that kids kept stubbing their toes on.
We really enjoyed the medieval night - well worth a visit and free when you are all inclusive. There is plenty of entertainment to be had in Benidorm which is a good job because the hotels entertainment is not very good.
We did enjoy our holiday but it could have been a lot better if we had been given a different hotel. The beach is great and everything is cheap.
Great food but....
We stayed at the Villa De Benidorm from 13th to 20th of August and having paid £2,300 for 2 adults and 1 teenager expected a really good hotel especially after reading the reviews about this hotel on trip advisor. Its hard to believe this is the same hotel. After a delayed flight we arrived at 10.30pm and were allocated room 106 on the first floor. We decided to have a early night as we were tired and immediately we heard the sound of machinery from the basement. Every 15 seocnds the was a clunk followed by a droning that lasted 6 seconds. Thats 4 times a minute every minute-all night long, needless to say a sleepless night!. Leon the rep (who was brilliant) arranged to have us moved to room 602 but this wasn't possible until the next day so we had another sleepless night . We moved on day 3 but worst was to come as the Monday was the last night for a party of Belgian teenagers in the room opposite ours. The hotel is advertised as a family hotel so we were surprised that a single sex party was allowed to make a booking. The party of teenagers returned to the hotel at 3.00am and ran amok on the 6th floor, banging on doors, slamming their own doors repeatedly and shouting to each other. We called reception and after 10 minutes somebody came and had a word but it all started again a few minutes later. We spoke to other guests who had also called security to no avail. They did not go to bed and the noise carried on until they left in the morning. When the maids were cleaning the rooms we could see thay had trashed their rooms, the fridge door ripped off, mess all over the floor and they had sprayed the mirrors and the corridors with something sticky. 3rd night of no sleep! The rooms leave a lot to be disried as there is vey little storage space with no drawers at all but 2 tables?? (see photo) and we only had 8 coathangers for 3 people (could be 4). We did ask a couple of times for somemore but they never appeared. The sleeping arrangement for the third and fourth person in the rooms is atrocious as they both have to sleep on a 3/4 size fold out settee, for elderly people or extended family members this must be distressing.(see photo) The "shower" in our room was only an attachment to the bath tap and it was impossible to regulate the temperature, hence having to run 3 baths every evening. As there are no balconys the only drying facility is a pull out cord above the bath which was totally inadequate for all the heavy towels and swimming clothes. The food was great - plenty of choice and you could get something to eat from 8.00am to 9.30pm. We did notice that the spanish families were shown around the dining facilities on their first visit but we just had to find our own way round. The fruit juice machine dispensed watery dilute/squash rather than proper fruit juice. The "free" ice creams advertised were infact ice pops and watery ice lollies. We heard quite a few people saying they were sold the holiday as 24 hour all inclusive when infact it was only until 1.00am after this time all drinks had to be paid for. We noticed a change in the attitude of the bar staff once drinks had to be paid for and there may be a tip !! The facilities outside the hotel also left a lot to be desired with safety in and around the pool being of great concern, we saw kids climbing on top of the water slide and diving into the pool - both not allowed, but not stopped by any hotel staff. Water from the pool drains away from it so anything you leave on the floor ie bags get wet!. The animacion girl also insists on having the music around the pool on full volume which is really annoying if you are trying to read or relax. The pool toilets were out of order and one of the doors was hanging off the hinges, this meant having to go into the hotel and walk through the entertainment bar sometimes dripping wet causing puddles on tiled floors. The already rickerty table tennis table was wrecked by 2 girls using it as a sunbed! a shame as it was very popular. Another danger to kiddies was two marble tiles by the toddler pool (see photo) we saw 3 children stubb their toes on them in 10 minutes. We also noticed a lot of the sun loungers and chairs were broken. We found the entertainment in the hotel very poor but there were loads of comedians and singers within 300 yards of the hotel. (dont take the kids to the Chubby Brown tribute!) Also live footy on T.V next door but one. We really enjoyed the Medieval night the horses are the real stars! The location is great for everything and it is literally 2 minutes walk to the beach which is fantastic. We really feel that tour operators would benefit from sending a mystery shopper to this hotel to witness the above first hand.
Magic...... oh yes it was
Came back about two weeks ago and I had a great time. There were 10 of us 4 adults and 6 kids. The food was very nice the hotel was nice (although I think 6 Euros for a lost keycard is a bit harsh considering they let you keep them as souvenirs when you leave). I would recommend going to the Medival Night it sounded boring but it turned out to be fun.
Everything was great even the people who did moan were funny enough to laugh at so that was great too.
The Staff are a credit to the hotel....... Well done.

I have just come home from a fantastic stay in the villa de benidorm and it was fab. The staff, food, rooms, pool, and entertainment were all great. I would not have to think twice about staying in this hotel again. The only complaint I have is that I could never go in that heat again, it will be more like september for me.
Just wanted to say that this hotel is PERFECT for anyone, of any age. We were allocated on arrival to this hotel and im so glad we got this one. It is a minutes walk away from the gorgeous levante beach, which is absolutely spotlessly clean, and has loads of watersports which kept us all happy. The hotel is in a central location, but it is quite quiet at night so good for families with kids. the clubs and pubs(which were the things we went for the most :P) were down the road from us, and was close enough to walk back to our hotel after a fun night in the clubs! the air conditioning was fab! no balconies but the large windows made up for it. rooms cleaned daily, friendly staff, night entertainment isnt that good though, its mainly aimed at older people, but its not too bad because entertainment (especially the drag and cabaret clubs) is really cheap but high quality. Can definitely recommend BAR LA RUE! its near left handers, on the way to levante beach. say hi to sugar and marcia and sheila and the crew if u go please from kerrie the strawberry! the tables are free if you book with them as they stand in front of villa de benidorm on a monday night touting! its a fab show honestly! liked the fact we were only half board but we still got free champagne from reception whenever we wanted it! food wasnt too bad, wasnt too keen on breakfast though, but cafeteria dinos opposite the hotel is cheap and really nice for breakfast so try it out. pool was clean, there were plenty of sunloungers, like the slide into the pool. The hotel is brilliant and i would definitely go back. the staff are so friendly, although we did have a bit of a problem with the animacion girl. she was playing obscene music out of speakers by the pool and was singing along to it, and the kids began to join in so there were a couple of complaints about that. however apart from that, the hotel villa de benidorm is FANTASTIC and i would definitely go back to it. thanks for making my holiday such an enjoyable one!

We stayed at this hotel and we had a fantastic time. Staff were friendly (if you liked being called Darling/Beautiful constantly). The hotel itself was very very clean, the pool did have a scum mark around the edge but it really was clean! The food was exellent and very varied, beer was free and cold and good (what more could you want)
Rooms were spacious and cleaned daily if you put your sign out, Sunbeds!! you had to be there before 9am to get a good spot but people moved around a lot re: the sun
The entertainment was pretty abysmal but there is plenty of nightlife on the doorstep. There were quite a few French/German/Spanish and of course English speaking people but we all chatted and everybody was exceptionally friendly. The only thing to really bug me was the fact that we only went for one week instead of two!!
This was my first trip to Benidorm i thought it was amazing! We stayed at the Magic Villa, the best ever! The Hotel was excellent, with friendly staff, very clean environment, brilliant entertainment, and fanastic choice of food. A week wasnt enough, cant wait to return, will highly recommend to all my friends. Great location too, surrounded by shops/bars/clubs, which arent too loud at night for a peaceful sleep, also not too far to stroll to relax on the clean sandy beach. Thank you for a memorable holiday x

thsi hotel was absoulutley brilliant the restaurant, reception and bar staff were all great and really helpfull. but what really made my holiday was our rep jill sygrove. i was really nervous about going away as i am only 17 and it was the first time i was going without my parents. me and my boyfriend matt were going on our own. because of the reviews we read we were dreading this hotel but it was fab. we ere right in the center of everything and there are things for people of all ages to do. the night life was brilliant. put didnt start picking up till bout 1-2 am .
jill the first choice rep really made our holiday we went on 2 pub crawls while we were there and this was a great way of making loads of mates overall i think this holiday was superb but terra mitica was a bit dissapointing.the beach is lovely and there is plenty for eveyone to do.
fun in benidorm
We [party of four women] have just spent a very enjoyable and fun week in benidorm staying at the hotel Villa de Benidorm! The hotel facilities were superb, rooms clean and spacious, food at all sittings,[all inclusive] was very good! fresh, tasty and a large choice available throughout our stay! Entertainment was average, but one night out spent at the Benidorm Palace and another evening spent at the medieval castle[free] were thoroughly enjoyable, for all ages too!! The evening at the Benidorm Palace would have been better had we known to book a meal for better seating! The Villa de benidorm hotel is in a very good location within walking distance of all the amenities of benidorm. A stroll to the gorgeus beach, shops and market. Hotel staff were pleasant and helpful at all times. We all had a fab time and hope to return again in the future.
Villa De Benidorm...I will be back!

I think the Hotel is great i went with 2 of my girls in October 8th,the only thing that isn't so good for the girls was the entertainment but they still went in to watch a little & played some pool. The swmming pool was lovely even though i didn't go in lol. The food was fantastic & the people of the Hotel were very nice to us. The room was very bright & lovely. Put it this way we are going back this October 18th but 3 of my girls & we can't wait.
P.S You want to try the Vodca Chocolate Milkshake yum yum!
