First class entertainments lady around the pool

My wife and I had a lovely week at the Venus.Food was first class rooms , very good. The only thing lacking was entertainment for British people.( and it was mainly British people there)The music in thd Dracma bar was for the Spanish and you could tell who they were. (The ones sitting at tables with no drinks)

We have had two fabulous holidays at the hotel. The staff are fantastic and our little girl loves Augustine in the restaurant, Mara singing in the bar and the ice cream machine! 2005 visit is already in the pipeline! Best wishes to all at the Venus.

Pleasant Stay

Stayed at the Hotel Resedencial Venus from 28/05/05 - 04/06/05.. Had a pleasant stay at the hotel, room was adequate and very clean, maid did a splendid job.The staff overall were very helpful.
Food was plentiful and of good quality, only downside didn't start evening meals till 19.30, which I found too late when you have small children...
Had a room with a poolview, which on some nights was noisy due to the entertainment being held outside, and didn't finish until around midnight.. There was a mixture of ages when we stayed from the elderly to the young so they cater for everyone and do it with no problems... The pool was large enough and had a section for the smaller children and plenty of sunbeds avaliable...
This is my opinion of what I experienced over the week and enjoyed my holiday and would go back again..........

Stayed at the Venus in September had a great time good food really friendly staff nothing was too much trouble for them the rooms were spotless. Booked again for may April this year but at the last minute we were upgraded to the 4 star Diplomatic and all i can say is it was not a patch on the Venus which is only a 3 star.

This is an excellent hotel for all. It's on a great central location. Me and my boyfriend definately enjoyed the nightlife which is only a 2 minute walk away!! Great hotel for all: young and old!!

just returned from a lovely 5 day break in benidorm.stayed at the venus as it was a special offer on the net from 'benidorm direct' only £68.99 for 4 nights half board and no surcharge for a single room[which turned out to have twin beds in it]
i went with two friends who shared a room,but i wanted a room of my own.the hotel was lovely,very clean and the staff were wonderfull.however the best thing about the hotel has to be the food.i'm afraid we only got up the last day in time for breakfast,which was lovely,loads of variety,.we were spoilt for choice. there is a large salad selection each evening[one evening it even had smoked salmon too] and there is always a hot option .the food is varied each evening and you can go up as many times as you wish.as someone else pointed out there is a huge desert selection to choose from too. although we are quite young and so didn't go ourselves there is ballroom dancing each evening in the room next to the bar,it is very well attended and lovely to watch even if you don't dance.there were some really good dancers there.after that they put an evening show on about 11pm and there is also live music with a regular friendly duo upstairs.we didn't go to any of the entertainment in the hotel but lots of others seem to be enjoying it.i don't think i would bother looking at any other hotels when we go back as i think the venus would take some beating for the money.a couple of pointers-if you feel the cold you may want to bring some warm night wear out of season,we had lovely weather but it goes chilly in the evening and for those who feel the cold,there is only a shhet and throwover on the bed.however my friend[who feels the cold badly]asked for 2 extra blankets and this was no problem.also the central heating was very warm[i had to keep it switched off as i don't feel the cold easily]so make sure and keep it on if you like the heat.

Just had a 28 day holiday at this excellent hotel, from 27/01/05 to 24/02/05 we will be booking again for the same time next year 2006.
food and service second to none.

We regularly stay at the Venus and have done since before the Residencia wing and new pool area were built.

The food is the best we have had anywhere and the staff helpful and courteous.

The rooms in the original wing are adequate and the Residencia much better.

Activities in the bar are excellent and always well attended, so get there early. The new rule that reserves seats for hotel guests before 8 pm is a big improvement.

There are more modern, better furnished or better located hotels in Benidorm but we keep going back to the Venus - it has that special appeal that you can't put your finger on.

Went to Benidorm 25th January 2005 with Thompsons for the 1st time and I thought that Benidorm and the Hotel Venus were fantastic. There are loads of shops to go to and the promenade is excellent. Ideal for anyone who has to use a wheelchair. The nicer more exclusive shops are in the centre of Benidorm but there are some lovelly little shops near the sea front as well. The Hotel Venus is a great hotel to stay at. They have ground floor rooms and an outdoor pool. You have to get a lift down to the dining room. The food is excellent and one of the best things about it is you can go back as many time as you like for each course. They have a varied menu for starters, main course and dessert and we loved every minute of it. Those who have a sweet tooth had better watch out though because the have a choice of about a dozen different puddings to choose from. My favourite was the rice pudding. Its gorgeous. The hotel has entertainment to suit a variety of age groups. They have 2 entertainment rooms. One downstairs next to the dining room and the other is on the ground floor and has live music every night. The hotel also has a room with a very large TV in it and screens English football matches most nights. The staff at the hotel are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. This was my 1st time to Benidorm and I am going back next year to the same hotel.

Mum & Dad have been to this hotel two years running now and plan to return again in 2005. They have only ever been to benidorm twice and have both times come back saying how excellant the hotel is, especially the food! They have stopped in some very nice 4 & 5 star hotels previous but state that the hotel venus is their favourite. My mum is also on oxygen therapy which hotel venus allows. 10 out of 10

hotel venus great hotel food very good nice clean hotel don,t think much of benidorm i could of when,t to blackppool for the week just the same a very scruffy place it is called concrete city out of 1 to 10 i would give it 1 all the places are the same scruffy bars and same old junk in the shops

Me my husband and my two boys 21 and 17 really enjoyed benidorm there was something there for all ages, I would highly recommend the Venus the staff were very good the maids cleaned our rooms everyday. The hotel is in a perfect spot, the ony bad thing I could say but also it made me laugh, was we had to queue for our food, The evening meal did not start until 7.30 which I felt was a bit late. I have already booked to go back to this hotel next year

Top Local Tips for Benidorm

Morgan Tavern Bar I would recommend going to the Morgan Tavern Bar which is opposite the Calypso Hotel for a great evening out, they have great acts and it is one of the best bars in Benidorm.

Pickpockets & Potato Men There are many Potato men on the beach and street corners, they basically play guess where the ball under a hollowed out potato is. Beware - they usually have 2 or 3 people working with them and they are rippin gof touists at 50e a go! There also pickpockets so be very careful, they seem to work in the shops. Also We were told about the lottery scam - again on the streets are people who are working this scam, they give you a lottery scratch card and of course you win! They then ask for you credit card which they than copy,

ideal for a short break keep you eye on cheap flights to benidorm out of season. it won't be sunbathing weather but it's warmer than at home and it may surprise you how benidorm differs in the winter months to a different audience
