Good Quality at a Good Price

I stayed at the Sol Ocas in Benidorm at the end of December 2007 and I've got to say that after 11 or 12 visits to Benidorm in the past, this hotel was right up there with the best of them. It is definitely the best 3 Star one that I've stopped in. The reception staff, maids and restaurant staff were helpful and pleasant and the hotel and room decor was spotless. Just a couple of points though.... a) There is no Tea or Coffee making facilities in the rooms and b) If you are English then you have a choice of just 1 TV Channel (CNN News) !! Bearing in mind that over 50% of people visiting Benidorm are from the UK, then this could do to be addressed by the hotel. All in all though it was very, very good.

One of the worst hotels

After reading the reviews from members of the public on your site I was looking forward to my trip.

My wife and I have just returned from our holiday, and found the Sol Pelicanos one of the worst hotels We have ever stayed in. The food was awful, the service was very unfriendly, the rooms were very basic, the beds were very uncomfortable.

Towels were not changed in the rooms, but replaced wet in the bathrooms.

Also very smoky in the reception !

The hotel sol pelicanos/ocas was great!We stayed In the Ocas and the rooms were very clean and tidy.A maid came in every day and cleaned the room.We stayed over Easter,for the first few days the weather was'nt very nice,but the last few days it was lovely.For breakfast and dinner there was so much choice some people could'nt chose.There were five swimming pools and you were aloud in all of them.There was a park,a souvenir shop wich sold papers,chocolate and over stuff.Beetween five and six thier was a happy hour at the bar,if you bought a drink you got one free.Their was a kids club and entertainment,the entertainment wasnt that good,half the time at night we were at bingo with my gran.Some places recomended are JJ's bingo,panchos,downhill bikes and terra mitica.Sol pelicanos/Ocas was one of the best hotels I've stayed In.

Excellent Hotel

It was great, better than we had expected! I went with my mum and 9 year old son we stayed at the pelicanos on the 5th floor and had a lovely room with a view of the pool and the front(as we were on a corner plot)which was great! and the lifts were really fast so no problems waiting as they had 5 of them. Also found the dinning staff to be extremly helpful as one of us had a food allergy which they catered for with no problems. The entertainment was also excellent as they have a brilliant entertainment team who are extremly friendly and very professional. Fernado on reception was especially lovely.Only wish we stayed for longer! and will defenately be going back. So go there and ENJOY!!!

I thought the hotel was very nice,didnt have a nice view at the start of the week till we asked to move rooms,as the maids make quite alot of noise if your next to room where they get the cleaning things from.The food was ok. mainly for older people me and my partner are only 24 and went in feb 04.i wouldnt go to benidorm at this time of year unless it had an indoor pool as u cant go in any pools.I can imagine it would be really nice in the summer time but i wouldnt go again in winter time.

My husband and I (27 + 33 yrs) and our 2 1/2 year old son stayed at the Sol Pelicanos/Ocas during May 2003 for 2 weeks, and of all the hotels we have stayed in over the years - this has definately been the best - perfect!

There were 4 swimming pools with plenty of space around each one, ample outside bars and even a playground for the kids.

Entertainment was great also but did start a bit too late for our 2 year old - although we did join in a few times!

The quality of food was excellent with something different served every night (and we were there for 2 weeks). On our last night there, we even had chinease!!

The hotel standard in general was excellent - very clean and spacious and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Only a short walking distance from the beach, shops and other bars.

Definately an excellent hotel all around and if ever I return to Benidorm it will be to this hotel.

Great hotel, great location

We stayed in Sol Pelicanos for a week during Easter 2003 and thought it was great. It was far better than we expected. The entertainment program was brilliant, although the shows didn't start until 10pm which I thought was just a little too late as I had my 6 year old with me. I couldn't fault the hotel and would definately recommend it. The staff were extremely friendly, nothing was too much trouble and the facilities were perfect for a weeks holiday. There is plenty to do in Benidorm whatever the weather. There are too many 'British' bars but I knew that would be the case before I went there. We had a great fun week and the weather was great considering the time of year. The beaches were well kept and there was childrens play equipment should the kids get bored.

i found the hotel was fine but the problems were that the social areas werent very organised and there was a theif. nothing could be done about it

There is loads in this hotel the rooms are good the meals are great and there is an excellent beach in a 2 minute walk a super hotel i must say there are loads of swimming pools and a play park for the kids while the adults are in the bar

just returned from the hotel los pelicanos Hotel in benidorm this is a spotlessly clean hotel the maid service was excellant clean towels and rooms cleaned evey day the only downfall to this hotel is if you like plain english food you have a bit of a struggle at lunch or enening meals the breakfast has tastes for everybody but the rest is mostly italian and spainish if you like fish you are okay but apart from that the hotel is superb check out the pools the best in benidorm the only drawback is the security of the hotels in benidorm several incidents during our two week stay of thefts at benidorm hotels not only ours youths male and females were snatching bags in the lifts and lobbys of mostly vulnerable people mainly old and infirmed need to be very viligant such a shame because overall a great place for a holiday caters for evey age group the november fiestas were a sight to behold if you think you have heard bangers here you should hear theres they literally throw you off your feet visit the lantern bar a dutch bar just up the hill at the top of the street very quiet but nice brandy and coffee 1 euro and the picadilly bar i minute from hotel cheap drinks and friendly if you like the piano and sing songs at night you cant go wrong

Top Local Tips for Benidorm

Valencia If you get the chance to go to Valencia whilst staying in Bendirom, you should!!! I went with a group of friends, (Aged 19-22) and the boys in the group were reluctant about going to see historical buildings and shopping. However they had a great time, especially because of the Valencia Football Stadium tour. Also great for Lladro and Nao collectors as many of the major tour operators have a stop off at the world-famous porcelain factory. The prices for the figures are much less than what you would pay in the shops at Benidorm.

Save money on drinks Dont buy drinks in the hotel bar as you can go outside [5 mins walk] and get then for a third of the price. Also do not exchange money at the yellow money exchanges as they charge extortinate commission fees and you only get the advertised rate if you exchange £1,000 or more. BEWARE THEY ARE RIP OFF MERCHANTS!!

Clubs to Hit I must say, even if you are into going to big clubs. Lennon's Bar/Club is fantastic. The music sounds quite cheesy up to about midnight. But if you are into Dance music that keeps your adrenaline up...then wait til after midnight.
