I've stayed at the Pueblo Benidorm a few times and am pleased to say that it is a good, clean and enjoyable hotel to stay at in Benidorm. The pool is large and clean, the bar is large with good service and although the rooms are a little small, they are clean and reasonably modern. Overall a good hotel.

Our first family holiday in 3 years and our first ever all-inclusive holiday. The kids had a gr8 time 6 yrs and 3 yrs old, lots of daytime and evening entertainment for all. Food was good, you would'nt starve. A lot of spanish, french and english at the hotel. Entertainment ended at midnight and it was nice and quiet then. Entertainment was family participation and artists ie magic shows, flamenco dancers etc. Another play area and pool opened when we were there and they were excellent. We are planning going back next year.

not chips for breakfast!!

from A TripAdvisor Member
my husband, myself and our 3 children stayed at this hotel in october 2004. we were very dissapointed with the food, very poor often cold and repetative, there was even chips on offer for breakfast one morning!! (not all english people live off chips we informed them!) the majority of the staff were rude and unfriendly favouring the large spanish clientel. the entertainment was poor and started too late, we often had trouble finding a table if you were'nt there by 8pm. on the plus side the rooms were very clean, maid service every day (if you dont want to be disturbed in the morning put out the sign "do not disturb" or you could find the maid entering the room whilst you are in a state of undress!!) we found that as all inclusive guests we were treated second rate to cash paying guests. we definately will not be going back!!

re going back!

from Kareena_McCabe
Myself, boyfriend and our then 5 year old son, went to the barcelo in June-july 2003, and it was fantastic. The hotel was clean and contrary to what the others say, i found the staff great. They were always pleasant and polite, they were always really nice to my wee boy, giving him lollies etc. The pool is massive, and also really clean. My other half loved the water polo, and as an onlooker, it really was a laugh. True there were a lot of spanish, but my god, it is spain!!! Food was great, big choice! If you're like me and had dieted right the way up to leaving, there is even a healthy eating corner, so you don't pile on too many pounds. We've just booked to go back, and can't wait, 25th june we'll be flying back out. Any questions, such as what can i do in and around benidorm with a 5 year old, just email me!

Hope You Have Plenty Money To Eat Out

Arrived at hotelL to disorganised chaos at reception. 3 staff working but not one of them finished a task. Three lifts in the main building only two working. If we had been unable to do stairs we would have been stuck in our room. Food choice and quality very very poor Choice very limited and usually consisted of bones and very little meat. We were All Inclusive so the evening meal left overs were put out for lunch the following day. The food was never hot and also the trays were never emptied after they had been out for a certain length of time they were only changed once they were empty. Tables in the dinning room were difficult to find as they were never cleared when people left the dinning room. 9 times out of ten your dishes were all still on the table from the entire meal

Great holiday all round!!

from A TripAdvisor Member
A very clean and well presented hotel. Rooms are of a good size, comfortable, and are kept clean by maids daily. Food was excellent, being an all inclusive guest i took advantage of this! Staff were friendly and helpful, only complaint would be the fact that we had a 2 hour wait for our room after arriving as it was not yet ready for us. However, this did not dampen the holiday and overall me and my friends had a great time, with no complaints about the standard of the hotel and its amenities at all. Close to all bars/shops/market/beach.

Okay but....

We went all inclusive. The rooms are small but you only sleep in them so it doesn't matter. We were made to feel slightly second class as there were no cocktails and no bar table service. A lot of the waiting staff looked very miserable all the time. No complaints about the food or hotel in general

from A TripAdvisor Member
nicely sited, close to the centre ,rooms clean, food good, pool good&the sun was on it all day unlike some, didn,t see entertainment,The only negative -was ignorant people letting the doors slam day and night& the rooms facing the main road were quite noisy

why all the fuss - a lovely hotel

from A TripAdvisor Member
We have just returned from saying at the Pueblo hotel, Benidorm, and after reading the views expressed by other holiday makers, I wondered if we were talking about the same hotel!. Our stay was from the 18 Sept - 25 Sept, and could fault very little.
We had requested a room in the main building, high up, and if possible with a sea view. Our request was granted. (Can't speak about the annex blocks, but because we had read that some people did not like them - we made our request). The hotel was friendly, clean, bright, plenty of outside space. The entertainment, while not exceptional, certainly put in a coulple of hours before bedtime. Plenty of outside venues nearby if required.
As for the food, my husband is the pickiest of eaters but he enjoyed the choices, and could always find sufficient to have a good meal. There was plenty of choice and variety. The breakfasts in particular were more than ample to set you up for the day. For a 3 star hotel this one was not bad. If you want better then look to a 4 star. (We have previously stayed in 4 star hotels in Benidorm and some of them were not as good as the Pueblo). We shall be going back next year as we felt it was good value, good position, and we enjoyed the ambiance in general.

Dingy, small rooms. Needs re-vamp!

from A TripAdvisor Member
I call this Bed Rock hotel. Yep. The bed was as hard as a rock ! Dingy rooms. Bits falling off (doorhandle in loo) and the tinniest bath & balcony I've seen.Stayed in red block not main hotel. Not really for couples or groups. Entertainment started too late for young children though. Very noisy at night Food good. Nice varied choice. Reception staff great. Next door to market but watch out for the sunglasses seller. (Spanish guy and his wife) He'll show you real Channel sunglasses then switch them for fakes as he's shoving them in your bags! To visit Old Town is a MUST,especially at night. Lovely clean beaches too. Good shopping. A 4* nearer to the beach/old town for me next time I'm afraid!

very nice hotel,rubbish entertainement.

from A TripAdvisor Member
myself, wife and 3yr old son have just returned from a weeks holiday at the barcelo,we found it to be a very nice hotel, however the entertainement was very, very poor, if you have kids and want to spend most of your time at the hotel then i advise you to really think hard about entertainement, they have 1 act on an evening that starts around 10ish and only lasts aprox 45 mins and these acts are very poor, they have the usual water polo and bowls sort of thing throughout the day but most of the people who play these games are the people who visit the hotel every year and it seems they are only there to brown nose the entertainement reps, not for us.
we went all inclusive (bad idea) which meant we were confind to the hotel most of the time and had to wear wrist bands and carry a card every time we went to bar and for meals, everything has to be signed for, even water and ice creams, the bar staff are very misserable and when they see the wrist band your most likely to be served last,as they dont get a tip i assume?. but all that said, its only our opinion (and that of a lot of guests we spoke to) but if your looking for a nice clean hotel and dont go all inclusive and dont care about good entertainement then this is for you.
also be warned there is a lot of spanish holiday makers at the hotel and we all know how loud they are.i advise you also request a quiet part of the hotel when booking with your agents and you may be put in 1 of the many 3 level buildings away from the main hotel,we were in one and it was spot on.
food is plentiful and lots of choice, however, its mostly spaish food with chips. but, as the old saying goes "when in rome". email me if you wish for anymore advice.

good family holiday

from A TripAdvisor Member
I think this hotel is great and the atmosphere is great you can sit around the pool side and watch the daily entertainment like rifel shooting, shuffle board, water aerobics and many others.
There are two pools there which is good. As the main pool is where the adult water sports are done well aged 12 and over, and the other pool sports is in the smaller pool for the younger ones.
The people who work there are very polite and helpfull.
The only down point is that there is not much of a variety of foods exspessially for the children.
The room are small but you are not in them much so it doesnt make much diffrence.
The beach is great but the sea has many rocks but there is many shops, bars, clubs and resturents around and even a market on a Wednesday and Sunday.
The night entertainment is ok but have seen better. i have seen many people have put this hotel down but it is no where near as bad as people are putting it out to be. Yes the sun beds are quite hard to get in the mornings but there is always tables around or even the beach close by.
I would recomend this holiday to all ages. It's a great place and was very relaxing . And location is great.
