Friendly staff, good service, excellent choice of food, difficult to fault. Yes, some parts are a bit tired and need refurbishment, but this did not detract from a very good holiday. Thanks

I booked this hotel as a last minute deal for a 2 week holiday in the sun. On arrival at the hotel, our room was not ready. I was asked to go away and return in one hour, which I did to be met by a receptionist who told me to sit and wait. So a further 30 mins went past, when I asked yet again was the room ready and a staff memeber looked at the keys and passed them to me. The room was pleasent and had air con and was very pleasant, the food was really bad, cold and oily, most nights fish!!!!!

Great Service & Staff - Poor food

This would have been a good hotel due to its location, cleanliness and friendly staff. However the food was well below standard. No real vegetables and the same most nights. It was not very appetizing, appearing to be leftovers warmed up. Breakfast was passable. People from adjoining similar hotels reported good food with carveries and fresh vegetables. Many who had stayed there as recently as November reported a dramatic decline in food standards. Rooms overlooking the roads need double glazing due to the noise throughout the night making it difficult to sleep.

Great hotel for the money spent, had stayed at the hotel 2 years ago and still the same standard as before, staff were great from the reception, bar and pool bar staff to the cleaners. Pool is brill, great size and spotlessly clean, this goes the same for the rooms as maids were in every day and left them spotless with clean towels every day aswell. Air con in rooms were brill as july was very warm as reaching to well above 40 some days. When I went to my room to cool down the room was freezing due to the air con, BRILLIENT!!!! IN THAT HEAT!Nice large dining room with meals to suit anyones tastebuds. Great location for the beach and nightlife aswell. Anyone thinking of going to Benidorm I would definately recommend the Presidente Hotel.

I have just returned from a Stag Weekend in Benidorm where half of us stayed at the Hotel Presidente. I cannot commend the hotel enough, right from the welcome from the Reception staff on the first day, to the Bar Staff, Pool Staff and even the Cleaners. The reception area is large and clean as is the fantastic pool area and although the rooms are typically a little small and basic, they were immaculately clean. Another great stay in Bendidorm and I'm glad to stay a pleasure to stay in the Presidente !!

Regular visitors will be disappointed

We stayed at the Presidente Hotel partly because it had been mentioned by most reports as a first class hotel and although most who visit the hotel will enjoy their holiday, regular visitors will certainly notice that standards especially in catering have fallen greatly since last year, this was the main talking point of all guests to the Presidente.

The food selection was very poor and a number of guests took only a sandwich at meal times and many elected to eat out, those who did partake of the meals could find a wait of up to 20 minutes at the serving trays as the popular dishes ran out and were not replenished quickly. We were only on a one-week holiday, and I think the general opinion was that not many could have put up with the same repetitive fare for a fortnight.

On the plus side the hotel although a bit old fashioned was kept spotless in all reception areas, the same was true of the rooms which were very well cleaned each day. The only problem with the rooms was air conditioning that could not be regulated and only circulated air at outside temperature; a fan would have been more effective, this lack of air conditioning must be a nightmare in the really hot months.

All staff were excellen, however with such a wide range of other hotels in Benidorm I could not recommend the Presidente Hotel and would not definitely not book this hotel again.

We travelled with Direct holidays and were informed only days before we flew that our flight times moved nearly 11 hours making our arrival in Alicante at 11.00pm instead of 11.30am and returning at 02.00am Sun) instead of 4.00pm(Sat). Please be aware this appears to be the norm with Direct Holiday, friends of ours who travelled to Majorca during the same time had their flights change three times the fortnight before their flight. Such changes were a nightmare for those with young children and babies and all I spoke to had to change their travel plans or mode of transport to the departure airport.

The Hotel Presidente is as good as all the other reviews suggest. Yes its clean, yes the rooms are nice and yes the entertainment is good (Abba-Esque in particular). However, it was the level of service from the hotels staff that exceeded my expectations. Nothing seemed like too much hassle. UK Cabaret (the bar below the hotel) was no exception. Ellen was a pleasure to see in the bar each night, and Javi and Chema the waiters were sure to raise a smile. They were also happy to advise us on the best bars to go to etc. All in all, an excellent destination and one which I cannot wait to go back to. Hotel Presidente here I come!!!!

Historical Traveller Reviews of Hotel Presidente

Average Hotel

from MaterialBoy
Found the Hotel was generally fine and in a good location, however we were full board and only dined once in the hotel, we found the food appauling, mondane and unappetising and the staff had a general 'supermarket frenzy' aura rather than a welcome to Benidorm attitude. So in that respect we lost out financially.

The rooms etc were fine, we did expect a refridgerator being full board and were disappointed at having no way to chill drinks in our room. The grounds, pool etc were fine.

Benidorm itself was enjoyable, but it really is for families and straight party animals. Being a gay couple we often felt 'out of it' in certain bars and clubs. They were either too pulsating with teenage hormones and testosterone or simply families and kids.

There were Gay bars and we went down to them in the old town once. They were really lifeless and predatory - not my thing. There was another Gay couple on our flight who however thoroughly enjoyed benidorm so dont let my opinion sway you.

Eating out i recommend the steak houses like la brasiere and the chinese right beside the hotel. They are a must. The Loch Ness is necessary to party in and was gay friendly as far as i seen. The shows (the constant shows) can be entertaining but begin to grate after a while. The club under the hotel was really boring and needed a good makeover. No seriously think 1972 niteclub, mirrors and glass.

I recommend you take enough for a new wardrobe shopping is cheap and bargains galore.

All in all it was good however i feel our week in Torremilinos was as good if not better for much less money.

cleaner than a surgeon,s knife

from martin.eastam
this hotel is cleaner than a surgeon,s knife the cleaners do a magnificent job the bedrooms are quite spacious and so are the balcony,s, went first week in december and the outside pool has a cover over it a kind of conservatory affair the temp inside was 29 degree,s so quite pleasant out side once the sun had come up it was shorts and t-shirt weather but goes dark about 6.00 pm. Now to the food breakfast on a par with other hotel,s we have stayed at in benidorm but the evening meal oh dear powdered mash and my pet hate tinned veg i ask you a country as fertile as spain and the chef,s favorite tool is the tin opener a good hotel let down by poor grub.

great hotel-great location

from cherylannd
my boyfriend and i stayed at the presidente from august 29th for 2 weeks. we are both 20 years old and would recommend the hotel to any age group.
we got a great price at our local travel agents, £460 each for HB for two weeks.
we thought the hotel was great, its very clean and well maintained. we got maid service and towels changed every single day we were there. our room was very modern and spacious, and the air conditioning was fantastic-it was so cool we couldnt sleep with it on at night, even when we were under the blankets, its that good!
one of the great advantages of this hotel was it had the facility for you to hire a fridge for 30 euros a week, which may sound a lot, but its a must for keeping water, beer and juice etc nice and cool, and it did just that.
being half board we went to breakfast almost every morning and thought it was very nice. there was lots of cereals, yogurts, pastries-which were yummy and there was a choice of the usual fried food-sausages, egg, fried bread etc. there was also a choice of cold meats, cheeses, and breads, so there was pleny of choice to suit any one.
however we didnt think the dinner was very good, we only visited twice and found there wasnt a lot of choice and the food was just ok. but its benidorm-and most of the restaurants are very cheap-especially most of the chinese restaurants where you an get 3 courses each and a bottle of wine for 10 euros, which is great value and the food is really good.
the pool area was very nice and there was plenty of sunbeds avaliable, the pool is a little on the small side so can get a bit crowded in the afternoon, but nothing major.
the location of the hotel was great, it was close to the square which is where all the main pubs and clubs are located, but not so close that you can hear all the noise. its near loads of restaurants including mariano's which is opened 24hours selling food and drink which is one of the best in benidorm.
its also only 5 minutes walk from the beach.
you can walk along the front of the beach into the old town which takes about 30 minutes with plenty of cafes and pubs to stop at for a drink along the way.
in the old town you will find a lot of designer shops which are very reasonably priced. theres also many restaurants and bars including one overlooking the harbour which is lovely to sit in and have a drink while taking in the views of the sun, sea and sand.
overall it was a fantastic holiday, with the presidente being a lovely hotel for any age group and benidorm being a fantastic holiday for anyone.

One of the best hotels ive stayed in.

from battierbabs
We have always wanted to stay at the Presidente and this year we have and it was one of the best hotels i have been at in Benidorm. We are a couple in our 40s and visit Benidorm at least 3 times a year so have stayed at a lot of accomodation.
We were on top floor so no noise from above, corridors were carpeted so no noisy heels.Rooms were modern and clean.
Only one downside, dinner time was a nightmare, long queues and you had to show the card given to you on arrival or the maitre d wouldnt let you in(unless you were spanish). There were a lot of german and spanish so elbows at the ready to stop them pushing in at the food as they will not wait.
pool area was large and plenty of sun beds.
reception staff were very helpfull.
I will definately stay here again, its the first place ive visited and brought back my box of earplugs unopened!!!!

good and bad

from trauma_boy
hotel and staff are great and will be on hand to help or answer any questions.
Hotel is spotless, pool is great and you never fail to get a sunbed,
however the food is not good we spoke to several couples who have stayed there for the last few years and it has went down hill ...rapidly!!
And they have VERY little in way of food for kids.
Be down early for your food or you will have to que for a while,
also ask for a pool side room, if you get a street side room
you will find it very noisy, goes on till 5 am!!
overall going by the reviews on trip advisor we were looking forward to our stay, on living there for a while it became clear that it is not all rosy.

Spot on!

from baloobear11
We have just returned and would go back tomorrow if we could. We have kept a close eye on all that has been said about the Presedente and would totally agree with every positive comment made. The only negative remark I would make about the hotel is that the rooms are slightly showing thier age, in as much as the fittings in the bathroom were a little worn, but to the hotels credit every thing worked as it should. It would have been nice to have had tea/coffee making facilities in the room, but these are seldom available. You could hire a fridge for 30 euros a week and the lock for the safety deposit box costs 12 euros a week.

You could gain a lot of weight here as the food on offer was both varied and excellent. Every member of the restauraunt staff did thier best, even the manager, who despite his lack of a smile, kept everyone on thier toes which ment that we never had to wait more that a minute or so for a table to be ready. In fact we only waited twice in 11 days, the first time being the day we arrived when things go a little slow as everyone is getting used to the layout etc. Worth mentioning are 2 of the waiting staff namely Fernando and Antonio, both are great characters who made each meal a pleasure.

Entertainment here is varied. Each evening outside on the patio Big John and a variety of specalist acts entertain the guests, This I feel is aimed mostly at the Spanish speaking guests but was none the less enjoyable when listened from our balcony. The other entertaiment was from the UK Cabaret club in the basement of the hotel. They boast of some of the best acts in Benidorm and I would not disagree, the only drawback is that each act is repeated several times a week and once seenis usually enough. However as you are right in the middle of the best of all Beni has to offer, most of it for free, it does not take long to find something new.

All in all, a brilliant hotel, in an excellent location, staffed by hard working lovely people, giving top rate value for money. YES next time we are in Beni we'll be staying at the Presedente.

Great Location

from linzima
Although the decor in the rooms needs to be updated, i can hardly say this tarnished our overall view of the hotel. The rooms were cleaned by a maid daily, and the rest of the hotel was immaculate. The swimming pool was lovely, as too were the jacuzzis.
The best thing about this hotel is its overall location. It is situated just a few streets away from all the main action, and only a couple of blocks away from the beach.
This hotel attracts mainly older travellers, but i was staying in a group of young girls and we all would recommend this hotel to anyone.
The food in the restaraunt was nice, but if you a vegetarian (as one of the members in our group was) i am afraid to say that unless you are prepared to eat salad for dinner and tea there is not much selection. The waiters are all extremely friendly and would give us a laugh every time we went into the restaraunt.
Price for water was a little bit expensive around the pool, but do as we did, and walk a few strrets away and buy yourself a large bottle of frozen water to keep you cool during the day!!!
Safety deposit boxes are 15euros and i think to rent a fridge it was 50euros.

th,e only thing i can say about the hotel presidente , is,if you are after good, food, enterainment, friencly staff, clean rooms then go for the presidente every time

super holiday

from A TripAdvisor Member
just came back from a week at the presedente hotel benidorm and all i can say is what a fantastic stay we had. hotel was spotless (always cleaning) the staff were very helpfull and polite and courteous at all times. the rooms were of a nice size, ours overlooked the pool .
The pool was a decent size and was ideal for adults and children, there are 2 further bubble pools to relax in as well.
there was evening entertainment every night from 8, and while not being the most colourful of entertainers, this fella worked hard and long , played something for everyone and was great easy listening entertainment.
now the food ,well it was all of a very high standard but i didnt much like the choice as in food terms i am very english ,i love my fish and chips and my sunday roasts, no body does it better than the english, though the hotel food is good it wasnt my personal taste , that said the ice cream is superb and so my wife tells me are the puddings, and we did easily manage to eat some thing there everyday which says a lot as we are both fairly fussy eaters. Benidorm has legendery nightlife and the position of the hotel is perfect, there is also a taxi rank right outside would i recommend this hotel??????? YES Every day of the week

great hotel

from eggsWirral_England
just spent seven days in this hotel.....I have been here before and found it worthy of a second visit..... a small criticism would be the food served for dinner although the breakfast menu really made up for this .clean well run with polite efficient staff.....choose a pool view just a little noisy on the street side rooms.otherwise probably the best value for money in Benidorm.
