Wonderful great place to stay

We have just come home from this hotel and found everything to be first class, The staff are great, The food was great, And the pool was the best I have ever been in, I would not go to Benidorm again as it was half closed down,Also the police are not about and when they are not a lot is done, The potato men are everywhere you go, Also people were upset at having to go outside for a smoke, The smoking room is drab and cold,

We walked in off the street and asked for a room. The staff were very helpful, and sorted us out when we told them we did not want to stay in the hotel we had already booked. The room was very clean, and most satisfactory. Would definitely only stay at this hotel again when in Benidorm. The hotels here leave a lot to be desired, and I have stayed in lots of them over the years.
Excellent Hotel

My wife and I have just returned from the Don Pancho Hotel in Benidorm where we spent four days. Everything about it lived up to our expectations and the vast majority of reviews that we had read about it before we set off. All staff are very friendly and helpful in every area of the hotel. Any mistakes are quickly, politely and efficiently rectified and there is an obvious sense of pride in all their endeavours. The hotel's public areas as well as the bedrooms/bathrooms were spotlessly clean and were in very good condition.
The quality and variety of food on offer was excellent and would satisfy any taste. This is also one of the very few hotels that I have stayed in outside of Scotland that serves porridge at breakfast time - I indulged myself in it daily.
The clientelle in the hotel tended to be older and there were very few children. Indeed the hotel is clearly aimed at attracting couples and older clients. The entertainment also caters for a more conservative market although the flamenca floor show would captivate any audience. This should not deter anyone who wants quality accomodation coupled with a lively holiday however as there are many alternative options for entertainment close by.
We would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to people who were travelling without children.

Wonderful Catering Staff

The restaurant and its staff was by far the highlight of this hotel.
We decided on this hotel after hearing such wonderful reviews on it. Reception staff were not so welcoming when we arrived but when our hotel room door lock broke, they quickly called someone in to repair it.
Weather was lovely though the beach was expensive. About half an hours walk into the main town and there's a lovely pastry shop just around the corner from the hotel.
All in all, not bad. Furnishings could do with a little updating.
We probably will not stay here again because we rarely go back to the same places and it has not convinced me enough to come back. Wonderful for short stay though.

Amazed that it has got 4 stars. Stayed in much better 3 star hotels.
Twin beds different heights, very uncomfortable for a couple.
Air conditioning did not work at all even though we were reassured that it was working. Hairdryer broken. Patio doors would not lock. Hotel shower gel not replaced if you used it.
Hot buffet food choice was the least in any 3 or 4 star hotel I have ever stayed in. Although salad and desserts nice. Very bland hot food, roast beef, steak pie etc. No pasta dishes or decent veg. One night only veg on offer was hard sprouts and sweetcorn.
One morning sat down to breakfast had cereal, both went for cooked breakfast, had 2 full coffees and orange juices on the table came back minutes later to find table had been cleared and another couple sitting there. Had to change places mid meal- not very pleasant, make sure you leave something on the table so its not cleared.
All in all not terrible but not what I expected, would not stay again. Felt like to much penny pinching went on.

Fabulous Hotel, Food good, Staff very friendly. Can recommend this Hotel. All I can say is the couple who found there room old and musty, must of been staying in the broom cupboard.

just arrived back. had 10 days in the don pancho. fab hotel, staff very freindly, clean towel every day, linen changed every 2 days, a welcome mini bar in room especially when we arrived at 1am.price not too bad.
my only complaint ive got is the pool area(as with most hotels) it is quite a small area with not enough sunbeds.i saw 1 couple with 4 sunbeds 2 under the umbrella and 2 in the sun.towels were left on for the next day nobody took them off.we had to go to the beach everyday at a cost of 9euros a day
i think this is not acceptable for the price you pay to stay in this hotel.
im going back to the melia next trip the pool area and the rooms are fab

After reading the reviews before going to this Hotel,we decided to pretend to be really picky to see if we could find fault with it - almost impossible. Spotlessly clean, very well maintained, excellent service, good food etc etc etc. Book it with with total confidence.

Stayed here March 2005 for a long weekend.
Lovely food. Excellent service. Rooms very clean, comfortable and good sized.
Entertainment good. Drinks very reasonable.

Top Local Tips for Benidorm
Waterpark If you like this sort of thing....try the the local Waterpark. 1 Euro on the bus. Excellent day out (even if you stay "dry".
plaza and cafe benidorm and the town all three pubs have great entertainment - won loads on the plaza bingo and two for 1 drinks from 7.30 - 10pm -fab kids are more than welcome here. Then onto the Town - great comedians here. Tthen onto cafe bendidorm to dance the night away !if you get chance to see wesley phillips sing he's fantastic !! Cafe Benidorm is great for kids earlier on ie up til midnight - the staff are fantastic and really helpful and courteous - had a great time !
