Great for kids

from PennyPicante
Just back from a long weekend trip to this hotel.

+ Staff all very friendly and smiley and great with kids.
+ Great for kids - plenty areas for them to play in - outdoor park, water park and kids club.
- coldish weather made it impossible to use the water park or outdoor pool
- indoor pool not warm enough for small kids (or me for that matter)
+ lovely lay out of hotel with large patios and gardens with planters so safe for kids.
+ nice setting and lovely pool area.
+ good choice of food and plenty for kids and adults alike.
- it is a bit far out from the beach - good 20 minute walk
+ lots of bars and shops on the way and good for a bit of exercise
+ rooms very spacious and nicely furnished - good cots available
+ sound proofing seemed to work considering it was a kids holiday season
- very hard to find the rooms - there are three blocks and three lifts and different floors - they really need to have a plan to show you where your room is. Make sure you know exactly where you are going before venturing off with your cases.
+ staff were great and took us to our room after getting a bit lost.
- room card "keys" were unpredictable and sometimes never worked - not ideal walking through the entire cafe length to the reception in wet swimwear to get a new key - not a pretty sigh for anyone.
+ Kids games during the day and entertainment (live bands) were on at nights and plenty kids playing around so they loved it. Expect there are much less kids out of holiday easter season.
+ drinks excellently priced !!

Lovely hotel and will stay here again. Have stayed in a good number of hotels in benidorm as i live nearby. Melia Benidorm is lovely too - a bit more formal but v friendly and elegant. Think the rooms are a bit nicer in the deloix as are the large patios off the rooms. Dining room in melia more formal and speicla and feels less like a large cafe. Melia overall more classy and has a truly lovely pool and garden area, but drinks are very expensive in the melia. Deloix more modern and airy - both great though but Deloix better for kids.

Hire Car Scam with hotel and police

from bolandManchester
The hotel itself was very pleasant, the rooms were spacious and had all the facilities that you would require apart from tea and coffee making facilities. most of the reception staff were rude and arrogant and totally unhelpfull. Hopkins ( spanish receptionist) was very helpfull and pleasant. We hired a car for the duration of our stay (4 days) when we arrived at the hotel we were advised by a very ignorant receptionist that we could park the car on the road opposite the hotel, when we parked the car we even showed him where it was parked to double check it was ok there. We never used the car and on the third day realised that it had gone. Hopkins was very helpfull and loacted the car for us as it had been taken by the spanish police with no reason as to why. We were advised that to have the car returned it would cost us 153 Euros. We were horrified, we went to collect the car and were told we could only pay by cash not card. On returning to the hotel we spoke to the manager and asked if he was going to pay half as a member of his staff had advised us to park there. He said it wasn't his responsibility and did nothing to assist us. Since returning to the Uk I have found out that this is a scam between the hotels and the police they apparantly get half of the money each. The day our car was took they took 6 other hire cars from the same area making nearly 1000 euros. Apart from the mither with the car we had a great time in Benidorm!

The Hotel is definately De-luxe

from shiloh32
Have just returned from The Hotel Deloix after two weeks in Benidorm. The hotel is lovely as is the rooms. However, what lets it down is the food. During the week it's mediocre but at week-ends when the local people book in for the week-end the food tends to be better, however they tend to cater for the spanish people. It's 20/25 minute walk into the town and the buses run every 20 mins for one euro which takes you anywhere you want. The hotel has all the facilities one can want but lacks in entertainment..The staff are friendly enough. We picked the wrong two weeks to visit Benidorm being 23rd Jan- 6th Feb 2007 as the weather was terrible. We enjoyed three trips whilst there.

Just back from a week hb at Hotel Deloix (25/01/07) my boyfriend, mother, father and i. The hotel was absolutely lovely very modern and clean along with the rooms which were cleaned every day.

Being quite a fussy person with food i ate in the hotel for breakfast and dinner mostly every day and enjoyed my meals, there is always something there that you can eat. Food was always hot and plenty available even when near to closing time. Staff were all very pleasant and helpful.

I would say that the hotal is not ideal for older travellers as it is a 15 mins walk to the beach front but is a nice relaxing walk if you are able enough. When we were out in the main part at night we got a taxi back which costs about 5 euros.

The hotel offers great facilities such as indoor pool, tennis courts, entertainment, saunas, gym, and beauty treatments. All in all a great hotel which we will definately visit again. A well earned and deserved 4 stars! Exactly as it looks in the photos. Yes the hotel was used by Spanish also but this is not a problem please do not let it put you off!

could be better

Loved this hotel and will return (soon)

from happyfeetsize9
My wife and I stayed at this hotel 23/11/06 to 5/12/06. It's a four star hotel and in our opinion deservedly so. The staff were excellent, always polite and seemed to quite enjoy English guests who speak a little of their language.

We were full board and booked it through an English on-line agency. If anybody can point us in the direction of where in England it is possible to stay in a hotel of equal quality for £20.00 per head per night, on a full board basis, please let's hear of it.

The food was excellent but if you are looking for pie and mash or greasy English fry-ups don't bother staying at the Hotel Deloix. However, if you enjoy roast peppers, endives, and all manner of tasty vegetables with your meat/fish courses you'll be at home here. I particularly liked the way in which any problems were dealt with quickly, and without fuss, by the dining room staff. Drinks were reasonably priced and the waiters never appeared to prefer to serve Spanish guests before us. In fact they were at our table to take our orders before we had even sat down on some occasions.

The room we enjoyed was spacious, clean, centrally heated (of an evening) and was amazingly free from noise from the other guests. Incidentally, many Spanish families flock to this hotel for weekend breaks. The Spanish can be quite demonstrative and at times noisy but they are never a problem and can be most polite to us Brits, once they realise that you can speak a little of their language. It was enjoyable to see them all with their families who in the main were very well behaved.

Neither of us are keep fit types, although we do enjoy long walks., so we did'nt bother with the swimming pools nor the gymnasium on this occasion, but they are their for all to use and were seemingly enjoyed by many.

As has been said by others, the hotel is on a main road but that causes no problems. There is a bus stop immediately outside the hotel and for one Euro each you can either catch a bus to Altea or take the bus into town. They run every 15 minutes. The Spanish could certainly teach us Brits a thing or two about how to run an efficient bus service.

Finally, if you do stay here take the lift to the top floor, there are only three, and from the rooftop you'll enjoy magnificent views of the surrounding hills and mountains. There's also a tennis-court up there if that's your means of keeping fit. We will be back to this hotel without any shadow of a doubt.

Well done the management of the Hotel Deloix.

Great Choice

from twoButies
My husband and I have just returned from an extremely enjoyable stay at the Deloix. There is only one regret I need to mention; unfortunately, we only stayed 1 week. The hotel building is designed in a very tasteful and modern style. Apart from a spacious and clean room with a huge balcony, we were most impressed by the vast amount of greeneries inside and outside the building.

The weather was great and we thoroughly enjoyed relaxing by the outdoor pool in comfortable sun loungers. To swim, we preferred the indoor pools because of the versatile and stimulating whirlpool functions and the warmer water temperature. Sitting in the Jacuzzi also became a daily routine. For a little extra money the hotel also offers a gym, spa and massage options (very recommendable!).

From reception to bar to dining room to cleaning, the personnel were extremely courteous and friendly. Unfortunately, neither my husband nor I speak any Spanish - aside from the usual phrases - so we were very grateful that everyone spoke English well enough to communicate. (I believe a non-English speaking holiday maker would have a much harder time trying to get around the United Kingdom.)

Both my husband and I embrace every opportunity we have to taste the various foods different cultures have to offer. In our opinion, breakfast and dinner was catered a wee bit too much to the British taste. We would have loved to experience more authentic Spanish food. The breakfast buffet offered everything from delicious cereals (made to your own liking with several choices of dried fruit and nuts), pastries, yoghurts, fresh fruit, cold cuts, cheeses, choices of breads and of course almost any style of eggs with the usual complements such as hash browns, baked beans, fried tomatoes and bacon. The dinner buffet had something for everyone's taste. A plentiful salad bar; the hot section always had rice, noodles and a variety of potatoes, at least 4 choices of vegetables (with one exception: NO mushy peas -:)) and 3 -4 different types of meat / fish. The dessert / fruit bar again offered great choices of fresh seasonal fruit, puddings and cakes.

The other hotel guests seemed to enjoy the evening entertainment. We came to relax and to get plenty of sleep – and sleep we got! Even with music playing downstairs and sometimes a baby crying in one of the adjoining rooms – once in our room with the room and the balcony doors closed we heard nothing. The air conditioning is adjustable to the desired temperature or can be turned off quite easily. Each room is equipped with a TFT television, an internet connection and a little refrigerator.

All in all, we were absolutely delighted by our choice of hotel – especially after walking through other parts of Benidorm and seeing all these high-rising hotels. We will definitely come back to the Deloix Aqua Center.

Great rooms - rude staff

from bekbell
The fact that the hotel was exceptionally clean with lovely big modern rooms was completey overshadowed by the fact the receptionist was the rudest man I have met. His behaviour completely ruined our weekend and we will not be going back. When we checked out and asked for a ticket for the car park, we were told we should have requested one on arrival to open the gates. When I advised him that I did not realise this and that we drove in because the gates were open he asked me if it would be okay if he entered my house if I left the doors open!! I advised him that there were no signs with instructions and we thought it was okay to just park and pay when we leave. He shook his head and was even more rude. I advised him (in Spanish) that he has bad manners and he replied stating that I had as well!! I reminded him that I was a guest at the hotel and he should not speak to me this way and he simply replied that I had started it!! I could not believe that a lovely weekend had ended up in a full scale row when all that I had requested was to pay for my parking ticket!! Otherwise nice hotel but a bit far out of the centre.

Great Hotel, Great Location

from Robroy1966
The hotel is situated in the most eastern part of Benidorm about 400yds from the Benidorm Palace complex - to get into the centre of town you can get a number 10 bus (single trip any distance is 1 euro) - be aware that the buses do not strictly follow the timetables on the bus stops and especially on a Sunday - we waited an hour for a bus on that day! Taxis are cheap (average fare 5 to 7 euros) and the drivers are terrific. There are pubs and cafes which cater for the British holidaymaker within walking distance of the hotel (about a 15 min walk) and are well worth a visit - the centre of Benidorm is its usual mad self safe to say!

On to the hotel now -

Staff - absolutely terrific, especially the housekeeping, restaurant and bar staff - what a brilliant bunch - little tip here: if you learn a little Spanish and order your drinks and bar food in Spanish, the staff will totally love you for it, and on the odd occasion will pour a little extra in your drinks. The reception staff are fine too but I did feel that some of the older members of the team were a little aloof and stand- offish when dealing with UK guests so be careful.

Rooms - can't fault them at all, housekeeping is done every day and the rooms are totally spotless - safe deposit box is very cheap - about 20 euros (£14) for the whole week - balcony is large and allows you plenty of time to relax and sit about. Tip here again - if you need to hang up any stuff you wore in the pool, take a small washing line and pegs with you - these are not provided by the hotel.

Food - we thought the food was absolutely fine - again if you are just looking for British food, try some of the bars further down the road - food is served buffet style at breakfast and evening dinner, with a wide selection of salads, hot food and deserts - one complaint here - the hotel chef and his team do not monitor when the trays of hot food are close to being empty and on a number of occasions this did cause some queues of people waiting for hot food and led to a number of complaints being made, so keep an eye on that.

Pools - absolutely fantastic, totally spotless, loads of sun loungers and an outdoor jacuzzi - terrific!

Entertainment - if you are expecting entertainment exclusively catered for UK guests, then this hotel will not suit you. It is designed for Spanish guests but dont let that put you off, the Bingo done by Entertainments Manager Franky is hysterical when he shouts out the numbers in Englissh, Spanish and French! There are occasional live acts who come in but again they are designed for Spanish guests. The hotel takes in a lot of private functions from the local community in Benidorm and that is not expected to change.

To sum it up, use the hotel as a fantastic base and go into Benidorm Central for all the entertainment - we are looking at going back next year already....

Peaceful and relaxing

from Kimbo_65
Hotel was very new and clean. Large main pool area and has separate areas for kids which made it very peaceful. Was not over-crowded as they only have 3 levels of rooms and also have large common areas, which allows you to have some personal space.

This is located about 1km from the beach but is only a 20min walk, so good exercise after a big breakfast. Being located out of the main area allows for a quieter environment and less noise, especially late at night.

Food could have been varied a bit more but was a typical buffet and there was plenty of it.

Overall, was a great place to stay and public transport is easy to use, cabs are also reasonably cheap so location is not a problem. Would defintely stay in the hotel again.
