The Gran Bali is the tallest hotel in Spain so you can see it from miles. You can actually visit the viewing area at the top for a minimal charge. The views are spectacular and we took lot's of photo's

On arrival it is very impressive. We were checked into our rooms efficiently by courteous staff.

The rooms was quite small, but adequate. They were clean and the bathroom was lovely with a separate walk in shower and bath. We were allocated a room in the lower tower. A tip is to request the taller tower and then you will get a balcony with a pool or sea view.

The public areas were well maintained and I loved the pools. They also have private showers, which are great if you have a late flight.

We were on a breakfast basis. The breakfast was excellent with lots of choice. I could not fault the quality either.

I really liked the location of the hotel. It was in La Cala so not in a built up area. The beach was less than 10 mins walk. There are also several bars, restaurants and a supermarket nearby. There is a bus stop outside the hotel and it only takes about 15 minutes to get into the Old Town or Levante. The cost is only one Euro. We used to get a taxi back at night and that cost about 8 Euro.

I would defiantly stay at this hotel again. We loved it and were sad that we had only booked for 3 nights.

The grand hotel Bali was a very clean and well-kept hotel. If you would like to visit Benidorm town you do have to catch a bus, as you are miles away. We didn't find the food up to much not much choice at all. The entertainment that the hotel put on was a Spanish group, the lead singer looked very similar to Cruella Daville. Mostly Spanish people stay in this hotel so this entertainment was ideal for them.

I was dreading staying in the Bali after reviews i had read, but they were all wrong! The Bali is top class!!! Food, Very good. Rooms, Very good. Staff, very good. There is nothing I could say to bad-mouth this hotel at all! I just loved the walk in shower & the GREAT choice of food every morning and night, each time I had two plate fulls & In the evening there was a freezer full of every type of ice-cream imaginable! Not to mention the superb pool area! I had a great time & will go back again, and again, and again! Once you find a hotel like this there is no point in going anywhere else!

we came here last year and it was so nice we came back this year but I have to say the food lets this hotel down there was fish on the menu every night (we was there for 2weeks)some of the food was cold there should be more variety not everyone likes fish!! Apart from that the hotel is kept clean and the rooms are spotless, the pool is great also. I would go again.

This hotel was one of the best I've stayed in - it was clean and elegant - wasn't to fussed about evening entertainment, which most people moaned about - Benidorm has loads to offer, so why don't people get off there butts and go to a bar down the road if the entertainment in the hotel didn't meet their particular requirements. I dont think that going on holiday means spending every last minute in the hotel! You're in Spain for Pete's sake - go and explore!!! And in Benidorn there is certainly lots to do. Rooms were clean, great bathroom and food was fine, plenty of choice for all ages. As long as there was chips my little one was happy!! Overall good hotel, would use again. The view from top floor is just a must - I went everyday!

The bali in Benidorm spain is the worst i have ever been to. The food very poor and do not cater for children. At night all the local people come in and take over so you cannot get a seat anywhere for the evening. There is no security on bags being stolen in the rooms. You can hear everybody's water going down your shaft in the room. Do some sound proofing!.

Nice hotel, has wow factor and good veiws. Rooms very spacious good for families.Staff helpful. Food not nice at all, monotonus, bland and tasteless. I would not go recommend board basis.

You could do a lot worse than the Bali

from A TripAdvisor Member
We have just returned from benidorm after a week of poor weather but we still enjoyed the break with our 22 month son and wifes sister and fella and 18 month son. Benidorm was better than expected, clean prom, clean beaches and overall very nice. The hotel was more than expected after reading some of the negative reviews on here and other sites.

We found the staff very helpful, especially when our son fell ill during the last evening. Checkin was a bit laboured but this is more down to there informative speil they give to everyone once they have checked them in. The hotel is big and has a semi lavish feel on arrival. We stayed in the 19 floor block as opposed to the 43 floor tower and had a balcony. The room was clean and functional, with 2 large single beds pushed together which seems the norm now in any hotel we stay in in various countries. the bathroom is well kitted out but mind the floor when wet as its very slippery on tiles. Room was cleaned everyday and sheets replaced every other unless we asked at reception to change them because of our son being sick on them!

They do have a kiddies play area which we only spotted when we were walking back to the hotel on the 1st night, its on the first floor. Go up in one of the glass lifts in the reception, turn right out of the lift and follow the corridor to the end, theres an insode play area with the floor covered in play matting which our son loved and an outside bit which has a big slide complex which he loved.

We found the food to be excellent, klouds of choice and everything cooked nicely. I am a very fussy eater but I found plenty to choose from every mealtime. Some others have remarked to go early to avoid the noise and this is correct unless you like the buzz. One thing to note tho, the evening meals are served quite late, too late for some kids I think with the doors to the restaurant opening at 1930. Still, we found a good bar up the road to get him various takeouts to eat in the room.

Also, the enterainment....this is down to personal choice. The main bar has spanish related live music in the evenings which I have to say is a blessed relief from hearing the usual tat in most hotels with tribute bands or some comedian all done poorly, at least the spanish live sets are done well and afterall...you are in spain!!!!! The other bar, has, as others have pointed out, a "Tom Jones" singer although he was in truth, a bit up himself and its certainly a novel twist to hear Tom Jones with a spanish accent when singing and since when did he do My Way!!??. But this bar does have a happy hour between 2030 and 2130 which u get buy one get one free and the singer is more of a background affair after a few rounds ;)

The final thing of note is the extrnal Glass Lifts in the main tower block that take you upto the 43rd floor. Boy do these things shift! ears pop at around floor 19! To go on the panoramic viewpoint on the 43rd costs 1 euro if you are guests and is worth doing. We spent more time tho just going upto the 43rd floor and back down again in the lift as our son loved it!

Would we go back? Yup, we would. We are normally accustomed to 3star hotels and this was much better than any we have stayed. A word to the wise tho, its on a hill and is a steep walk back up from the beach or town but you can get buses which run every 10mins or so into town (5mins) or back again.

If anyone does want anymore info I would be more than happy to try and answer questions if you email me.

Bali - beware!

from A TripAdvisor Member
Not for the young or the young at heart. The hotel was full of senior citizens and the entertainment matched it - dire! Food was not up to its 4-star rating. Area around the hotel is dead in April/May, we had to bus or taxi into town to find signs of life. One point to note if taking family - one street up (on the main road) from the hotel - we kept seeing kerb-crawlers picking up 'ladies'. Also, the hotel had functions and great influxes of spanish weekenders, and it was difficult to get to food, lifts, etc. on the weekend.

Too big

from A TripAdvisor Member
Recently returned from holiday at the Grand Bali. Very clean hotel, and helpful staff. Food was of a reasonable standard, but meal times were very noisey due to annual holiday of the senior citizens of Spain. We soon learnt to eat early to avoid the noise. Would I go again? To Benidorm a definate yes, to the Grand Bali, no, far too big and inpersonal.

Never a 4 or 5*

from A TripAdvisor Member
Staff rude & ignorant, not all the rooms have a balcony or terrace we had to look at 3 rooms before we received what we had paid for. It took some clients over 1 hour to book in. Tom Jones tribute fella was not even a pub singer and did the same routine every night, we didn't know Tom sang My Way. 2 restaurants only open at weekend, 1 the rest of the week. Only 2 cafes open to residents. Fountain not working and outside jacuzzi only occ. Only 1 poolside bar open and drinks had to be collected and the staff served the Spaniards first so you waited ages. We had to ask on 2 occassions for the bedroom floor to be swept and the tops to be wiped. We've stayed at 3* Hotels all over the world with better service and facilities.

It really was that bad!

from A TripAdvisor Member
Staff were rude, the food was awful, the entertainment was extremely poor and repetative. We try to make the most of things but this hotel and holiday really was beyond looking on the bright side.

Best hotel going

from A TripAdvisor Member
i went to gran hotel bali last summer. it was brilliant. very clean and the rooms where massive and very modern. such a lovely hotel. for meals there is everything you can think of to eat. staff were great-i was handing tips out like i was loaded but it was worth it. entertainment was great i thought- abit different to the normal english stuff but you are on holiday experience new styles. (jesus great dancer) i was dancing away every night to the spanish music. for english entertain just got a taxi into the town for the normal karaokes etc. could not loose the hotel though see it from everywere- felt proud to say i was staying in it when i was out and about. booked it again for this summer.

NOT FOR THE FAMILY

from A TripAdvisor Member
No good for families, it is a business hotel which revolves around weekend seminars and conferences. The hotel suddenly becomes jam-packed with spanish people attending these functions and the ordinary holiday-maker goes to the back of the queue. No facilities for children. Our rating 3/10.

Impressive appearance but not up to scratch

from A TripAdvisor Member
On arrival to the hotel it was very impressive, very clean, downside it is not a holiday hotel it is for business and Spanish. Rooms are of a good standard, dining room acceptable however the food was very repetitive in more ways than one. I expected more from a four star hotel. Staff were doing their jobs for their wages no customer service training must have been given. Very difficult to get a smile from them.
The entertainment was terrible, not only terrible but they set a minimum charge for drinks while the entertainment was on if you can call it entertainment!!!

Not to be missed....

from A TripAdvisor Member
The Bali hotel is the best hotel I have stayed in. The food & staff were not to be faulted and the standard of the hotel room was impeccable. It is also in a prime location situated slightly away from Benidorm town centre. The hotel itself is breathtakingly designed.

Top Local Tips for Benidorm

Not for the faint hearted If you're a moaner and you don't like crowds, then this hotel is not for you, especially at the weekends as it is such a popular place. Strangely enough, by Sunday afternoon/evening it was like a ghost town. Do take a walk to the older part of Benidorm and walk back along the beach...its great.
