i wish i had found out about tripadvisor before booking this nightmare
we were put in a room over the pool when we requested aquiet room and after being told to ask next morning on 3 separerate occasions we gave up the food was luke warmand you just did not wish to chance your arm by eating it .
the staff were the most unhelpful ignorantand downright cocky i have ever come across and one of the bar staff in the pool bar uttered something in spanish everytime you ordered a coffee,it must have been hard work walking 6 feet to the machine.
the kids entertainment was good but why did they give the adults the same,i got the opinion they just didnt care roll on my next hol. in the uk

A week before the holiday we looked at trip advisor and was horrified on all the bad reviews and nearly cancelled .We all wish we had,there was 7 of us went from our family,and all of us found the food discusting it was cold and plastic everyday.In the end we had to eat elsewhere as it was coursing tension among us and it spoilt our holiday and it helps if u you enjoy your food and it was bad .The pool was dirty,wasps everywhere and stunk of poo.no lights round the baby pool which was to deep and cold this was very dangerous at night with small kids im amazed there was no accidents in there,a 3yr old girl broke her hip after tripping up a carpet which was curled up at the ends in the entrance .Cleaners tried to keep it clean but were struggeling to say the least.lifts kept breaking down(wasnt very wheelchair and pushchair friendly!!!!) and entertainment was poor at night and unbearable a bit like a kiddies disco. you are a short train come tractor ride away from the nearest town which was small and full of tack,better shops in skegness.The beach was nice in the nearest town clean and very clear water,lovely, but not much else to do the trips are expensive if u go with a guide,but id deffinatly recommend Palma its beautiful!! the local bus service is the cheapest way to get around and recommend the rock cola bar/cafe for the night life not bad entertainment and excellent service,the super supreems are a must to see . all in all a crap holiday would never go again couldnt wait to get home after 3 days of the torture,and im sure many other families felt the same. i have got two bits of advice you must listen to.(1)DONT GO HERE.(2) DONT STAY MORE THAN 1 WEEK !!!

Along with some friends and family we went to the Canarios Park on August 29th for a week. It wasn't a bad place the rooms were clean, maid service was regular and the food was good- selection, quality. Now the stuff I didn't like, the wasps round the pool were unbelievable and solely down to the fact it was never cleaned. The pools themselves were far too deep and no good for young kids or weaker swimmers, they were also dirty. The staff were unfriendly and rude (as were most holiday makers), and although the entertainment staff worked hard the night-time entertainment was poor (and thats being kind). It was also set out around the deepest pool which considering all the children running about was iresponsible and unsafe. I wouldn't recommend the Canarios Park, especially if you have young children and I defiitely won't be returning.

Great value for money

Having just written a review about a truly pitiful hotel in Rhodes (the Blue Bay Seaside Resort) where I stayed at recently, I thought I would take a look at reviews of the Canarios Park, a hotel that I have been to a couple of times and which I compared favourably with the Blue Bay in my other review.

I must say that I am very surprised that the reviews for Canarios Park are - to say the least - somewhat 'variable'.

Yes, there are a few wasps, I'll give you that. Big deal. And okay, the rooms aren't air conditioned, but you know that before you book. This is a 3-star hotel, not a 5-star, and the price you pay reflects this. The rooms are perfectly acceptable, clean and relatively modern, and the food is of a consistently high standard. People who've complained about getting food poisoning or injuring themselves are either very unlucky or just need to be more careful!!!!

I challenge anyone to say that the Canarios Park doesn't offer decent value. Face it, for what can't be much more than £25 a night all-inclusive, you ain't going have your meals prepared by Anthony Worrall-Thompson!

If there is one criticism, and only one, the hotel isn't on the beach or in the actual built up part of Calas de Mallorca itself. If you're a beach lover, you might find the 1/2 km walk along a twisty hillside path to one of the beaches a bit of an inconvenience. But if you can't stand walking though, you can always take the mini-train (which is free by the way) to the main beach.

All in all I can heartily recommend the Canarios Park. I can only second the opinion of the person who said "We had a great time so dont be put off by reviews as i was it was a lovely holiday and i would happily go back to this hotel."

I have given this Hotel a 5/5 rating mainly to make a point about how much I disagree with many of the other reviews (but I would still rate it at least 4 othewise). Maybe I was very lucky on my two holidays there (which were in 2002 and 2003), but unless you're a serial whinger, there's honestly not a great deal to complain about.

My family and I recently stayed at the canarios park in july 2004.i was dreading what was in store for us as the reviews were awful.it was a nice place,a majority of the staff were pleasant,i would say that quarter of the guests were very rude! it was awful the way that the sunbeds in the day were hogged by people putting their towels out early hours of the morning.It was clean ,but we were 4 in a very small room which you could hardly move in,not very pleasant when its boiling hot! enjoyed,but wouldnt go back in a hurry.the wasps are a bit of a pain to!

Food ok, the hotel staff should on be sent on public relation courses. The entertainers leave much to be desired and do not cope at all well when dealing with queries that come up during the day . Do not leave your camera in your room as the cleaning staff take photo's of themselves making your beds. The pools are not children friendly with no life guard. Of an evening the smell from around the drainage area of the pool is horrendous. Hotel door jam so they are comtinually being slammed shut during the night. Met plenty of lovely friendly people which made the holiday, the people in town were frindly, just the staff at the hotel were not at all. I would not recommend this hotel at all.

Excellent value

After reading reviews of the hotel after we had booked,we very nearly cancelled. I'm so glad we didn't.The hotel was brilliant with lots of things to keep the whole family occupied.The sports complex with excellent facillities kept them amused all day , lots of pool games for adults and children alike.A good variety of food, something for everyone,staff friendly and helpful.Rooms cleaned every day.There were wasps but what do you expect when people are too idle to put ice cream tubs, and left over cola and 7up drinks into the bins around the pool and seating areas.Our holiday was 17/7/04 -31/7/04 and we would not hesitate to go back again,childrens ages 4,7,8.Our friends childrens ages 2 and 9.We only noticed two things about the hotel which could make it safer for younger children, needs more lighting by the park area because it goes dark early,no shallow end in any of the pools, but their is a small separate kiddies pool.I think there are people who go on holiday just to complain, so if you want a 5* hotel don't book a 3*.Have a fab holiday youv'e got nothing to worry about at all.

great for kids

went to canarios park 14-21 june.me and three kids,aged 7,11,12.we were looking for a kids holiday.you know pool ,food kids will eat,and entertainment aimed at the kids. and thats exactly what we got.there were a few single parents there also with their kids.i would recomend it as a holiday were you can feel safe and relaxed .an excellent holiday allround.

After booking this hotel i read the reviews and we were horrified but on arrival hotel appeared fine staff at reception were great. Room- Typical hotel room safe balcony clean bathroom maid daily. Pools 1 in main complex 1 in sports complex belonging to hotel and only across the road from hotel we spent most of our time here sports activities were organised every hour also tennis courts volleyball court football area table tennis pool all around pool area what more could we want with 2 boys. Resturant- Something for everyone no need for anyone to be hungry although does get a little monotonous as do all inclusives in all i have stayed in and the meat does tend to be fatty cheaper cuts of meat, fish was excellent as were the salads and kiddie section. Entertainment -the entertainment team were great kiddie disco half hour each night then bingo then more adult entertainment/fun and games either by the entertainment team or audience participation or proffesional show twice weekly. My son also tried scuba diving at the poolside 1 day and loved it.we walked every few nights into town it took about 20 minutes on road as beach path is a little steep walk at night especially after a few bevvys. We had a great time so dont be put off by reviews as i was it was a lovely holiday and i would happily go back to this hotel.

All I can say in relation to some of the previous reviews is that the Hotel must have improved 100 %. We've just returned from a very good holiday at Canarios Park. My kids, twins aged 12 and a 14 year old had a good time, enjoyed the food and hospitality. Staff were pleasant, hotel was clean with no worn out carpets and no evidence of resident rat!!!!.
None of us suffered from food poisoning or stomach upset. Also spoke to many Brits there who were very happy with the set up. Kids entertainment was very good. A minor gripe would be the main swimming pool which had a deep 'shallow end' if that makes sense!
The twelve year olds could hardly touch the bottom so not very good for none swimmers. And the kiddie pool was too shalllow for them!
Plus the adult entertainment was not that great.....but improved with the more free beer I drank!
They were my only gripes. We found the hotel clean and safe, the cleaner left out markers when the floor was wet so they must have improved on their helath and safety! So anyone who has booked this hotel please do not be too despondant as it looks like the Hotel has made major improvements.
I am sure you'll enjoy your holiday.
