Excellent Hotel in a beautiful Location
from A TripAdvisor MemberThe hotel is well looked after and clean, although the location of the bidets in the bathrooms leaves a lot to be desired!
The staff are all excellent, very friendly and willing to help. Requests for extra bedding/pillows were no problem.
An excellent idea was the picnic boxes, just book the day before and pick up at breakfast. Grab some butter/marg from the breakfast buffet, they do not include any in the boxes.
The 2 beaches to the sides of the hotel are excellent places, although watch out for the tar on the larger of the 2 beaches (I forgot and covered a towel!).
In summary; an excellent family hotel which is located in one of the prettiest places I have been.
excellent hotel
from A TripAdvisor MemberRooms were basic but as only sleeping in them did not bother us. View is picture postcard. Pool was not massive but have spearate kids pool and if wanted sunbed have to be up early!
We have 15mth old and our friends have a 5 and 8yr old. They loved the mini disco every evening. Entertainment was also all outdoors which we loved instead of sitting in dark bar.
Resort quiet (but we liked this). There is trotters bar for those who like the football.
Out and about. Soller is just over an hour drive through the mountains. If you do one thing when staying here is have a trip to Soller as lovely old spanish town and the secnery when driving is beautiful.
All in all a great hotel and execellent value for money. I would definatley return again.
Outstanding! Beautiful! Friendly! What can we say
from A TripAdvisor MemberThe resort was quiet with a few shops and bars but we found we didn't really need to leave the hotel. This hotel and resort is great for families wanting a quieter holiday.
The sea in this resort is fantastic, very clear and you have to make the most of snorkelling, the kids loved it. There are a few pedelos on the beach and the beach is looked after very well with lifeguards on duty keeping it safe with different coloured flags.
We booked this hotel direct with Alpharooms but the hotel seems to now have been taken over by Airtours and can't be booked independently for 2006.
This is a hotel that once visited will be difficult to beat!!
absouletley excellent holiday
from A TripAdvisor Memberwicked holiday , would go back
from A TripAdvisor MemberBeautiful location

from LiverpoolChrissyFantastic Place. Amazing scenery.
from A TripAdvisor MemberThere are amazing walks in the hills nearby. You can walk to Puerto Pollensa just over the hill. This is a beautiful walk but make sure you check your directions as we got a bit lost and wandered off the path for a while.
The staff are all pretty friendly at the hotel and the service is good. We enjoyed the food and were even served champagne with dinner a couple of nights.
Don't go here if you want a wild party holiday! There aren't any clubs in Cala San Vicente and the hotel bar shuts at 12.
If you want a quiet relaxing holiday, with some amazing scenery then this is a great place to go.
Impressive for money
from A TripAdvisor MemberFor the budget minded student this hotel is an excellent choice for a quiet WEEK (might get boring if you stay any longer). It was all inclusive and so no money for food...VERY CHEAP! Everybody seems to moan about the locality of the beer dispensed in this hotel, but San Miguel (especially free and unlimited) is a top notch beer. Honestly can u people find nothing nice to say. The area was nice and most of the rooms are sea view. Just, as so many have pointed out, if you get the annex (we did!) get out of there as soon as possible, we were moved to a big room with sea view on the second day. Bit disappointed with service, they aren't really too bothered. but they are pleasant enough.
The locale...
Beautiful spot! Lovely rugged scenery and very peaceful on that part of the island. Buses can be caught to Puerto pollenca and from there buses to the amazing ancient town of pollenca and to the old walled city of Alcudia (girlfriends will unanimously vote to go here because of the endless procession of shops and market stalls. Chaps, bring some paracetamol and a fold up camp chair, could get boring).
(N.B. Just a tip, if do plan to get around the island don't go on the planned excursions (they're a complete rip off!), and do plan your time, the busses aren't very frequent.
The food...
Well what can I say? Hmm? Well considering the price of the hol I was pretty impressed. Selections while limited were very nice, lots of fast-food styled dishes, plenty of fish, plenty of fresh salad and fruit and veg. Meats pretty good actually, especially beef. Can't really go wrong, though some of the puds are questionable but there'll be somethig every1 will like.
Soft drinks all schweppes and Coca-cola branded, so thats fine. San Fransico non-alchoholic cocktail is actually really refreshing.
The 'entertainment'...
Well there are limited programmes in the day mainly aimed at children, such as rifle shootin and ping pong tornaments. The evening entertainment is diabolical really, but u can't really moan coz the holiday is very cheap. It beats sitting in ur room doin nothing neway, and the Hotetur team, I have to admit, do try their hardest. If you do want toget out, just down the road is a very 'chic' style tourist bar. It's great for brits, u have to go, at least once. Are you ready for it... a bar based on Only Fools and Horses...entirely. It really is great and they even have replica trotter 'pig' parked outside. Here you can play pool and cards, or listen to a tribute band or artist. If you're really lucky u get a complimentary pot of peanuts, just like home, eh?
The accomodation and facilities...
The hotel is rather small and pretty much no frills. Again wat did u expect for the price? But the bedrooms are fairly well appointed and have air-con, pretty spacious too! The pool is... how shall I say it... Refreshing? No that would just be a lie, it's more like.... freezing! But sayig that u get used to it and afta all it beats getting roasted alive at mid day. The extra-facilities so to speak of are rather... absent, but that's ok coz u can just soak up the sun. Beaches are quite pleasant and are excluded to the public (though there is nothing from finding their way down). They have a popcorn machine in the downstairs lounge... if any1 finds that a consolation.
The summary...
Good 4 money, if ever in dire financial circs again, might return, but area is very quiet, as in no life under 60. Only jokin, it's quite a nice budget break really and you get to see Majorca, which is a beautiful island. Can sunbathe, always space (that is wen we went in mid-season), and there are some good walks (NOT FOR THE FAINT HEARTED APPARENTLY). I think it's well worth a visit... can't go wrong really.

Taxi transfers As this is the start and finish to your holiday I find it best to get a taxi transfer we booked one through the internet he was there to greet us - was so friendly told us loads we didn't know about the island and kept us amused during the journey. He even insisted on carrying our baggage inside once we got there. They don't ask for cash up front and provide a great serive I think return it cost us 120 euros and added a few extra hours to our holiday
Not For Children This is a lovely hotel but I would never recommend it for children. It is perched on rocks between two small coves . The sea can be extremely rough at times and there is a pathway that goes around the hotel sun terrace which has drops of at least twenty feet in some places onto rocks or into the sea.The only barrier to prevent this is a rope between wooden posts which I feel is not adequate. I would not have a moments peace of mind if I was a parent accompanied by small children at this particular hotel. Apart from this I highly recommend this hotel. It's simply great!
pack your medicines id make sure that you packed all the neccessay medicines you needed especially with children eg calpol and upset stomach things as you cant get them in the resort
