Brilliant Hotel

We went to this hotel in June 2008. First of all let me say we looked on this website first and we do agree with all the positive comments because this hotel is probably one of the best I have ever stayed in. Food was brilliant (and im a fussy eater), there was something different every day & night. My partner normally on holiday just eats pasta because she is fussier than me but in this hotel she had something different every day, we just couldn't fault it. Now with regards to other parts of the hotel - the roof top pool area which is just for adults was the best part of our holiday, it is just so peaceful up there and the cooling breeze which passes over you ever now and then is just gorgeous when its red hot. They were also playing music (CD's) from behind the bar to chill you even more. Down stairs main pool is also lovely but we only spent 1 afternoon down there but beware it gets very hot but the pool does cool you down. The lager and cider was just like home and goes down a treat, there was hardly any queuing at all anytime. The shows at night we good and there is plenty for smaller children to keep them entertained. Beware with the seating at night, you do have to get outside early if you want a good seat because it does get very busy and seats go quickly. After 12am the disco is open inside but we found that gets gets empty and by then we had had enough but it does go on till 2am or you can go into town if you wish clubbing. The rooms were big and very clean (cleaned and towels changed every day) but lads beware when getting into the shower front ways!! - Showers very powerful but relaxing and refreshing. All in all I would say about this hotel is DON'T listen to negative reports because we couldn't fault it - go on book it you WON'T regret it - Top hotel.

Unfortunately this hotel is in need of remedial work no locks on loo doors and sharp staples sticking out of wicker chair arms. Food which was not 4 star but was varied but was never ever hot just warm, or cold unsurprisingly the rep informed me that food here in Spain does not have to be as hot as in the UK? my point is that food temperature has to be maintained in order that problems do not occur allowing the temperature of foods to fluctuate is asking for trouble. Hotel reception staff were basically not interested. Staff running the bars were thin on the ground they were moving from one bar to another the rooftop was closed on a few days due to staff problems but the rep blamed the weather which incidently was calm dry and warm. Just in case you think that this was our first visit it was not sadly standards have reduced over the years and issues with kids riding lifts and queueing at mealtimes seem more accute. Finally although hotel is a bit rough around the edges and need of refurbishment towls and bedding were threadbare but the cleaner made the best of what she had to work with the room was spotless.

As you can see we were at Flamingo Oasis for Christmas 07. This was our 7th stay at the hotel. We did not have time to visit the beach for the 2 weeks we were there because there was to much going on in the hotel. Especially for the 2 children, we travelled with the non stop entertainment. Was absolutley fab. It was diffrent every night even the two visits from father christmas on Christmas Eve and Christmas morning. All the hotel staff and entertainment staff went out of there way to make sure that all the children enjoyed themselves. Nothing was too much trouble. As far as the rooms go, we've never found any complaints the cleaners were very thorougher. Having a family suite, we had plenty of room for 5. There were lovley views from the side of the hotel. The indoor pool was very warm and we used it quite a lot in the 2 weeks. Ault entertainment was fine with a diffrent show every night. We look forward to September 2008. We have booked another 2 weeks.
Food awful and lifts a nightmare

We have just returned from the Flamingo Oasis and will never be going back.
The lifts are an absolute nightmare. We were on the 23rd floor and one morning had to walk down 23 flights of stairs as we couldnt get a lift. The lifts are not nearly big enough for the amount of people and are dark with tiny lights in the ceiling and claustrophobic. They are very hot and coming down in them, the air conditioning doesn't start until you reach the ground floor. What good is that?
The food was terrible, a lot of it being very salty and the same food practically every day. Most of it didn't taste nice either. Cereals and pasta were tasteless and no chicken breast. If you dont eat red meat you are in trouble. There was no diet or low fat food, which we have found in other places and the chips were soggy.
Queues for drinks all the time.
We couldn't sit by the pool at all. It was like sardines with everybody cramped up. You couldn't get a bed or chair to sit on and there was hardly any room to even walk around the pool. No pool towels are provided either so if you don't take your own you have to buy them. We went out every day. We found a lot of people there very unfriendly and on two occasions a fight nearly occurred between guests. After dinner in the evening, people literally run like caged animals to get a table to watch the entertainment, which is just awful and on getting a table if you want a hot drink you then have to go upstairs for it and queue up. Only cold drinks are served near the entertainment. The only good thing about this hotel are the adult shows, entertainment team and the rooms which are spacious and clean.
Freezing indoor pool

This was the fourth time we'd been to the Flamingo Oasis and the indoor pool has got colder each year - the first year it was lovely and warm. I complain each year but to no avail - Management tell me Spanish Law forbids the temperature increase - what a load of rubbish! I have asked the Reps of Thomson and Thomas Cook to help but no luck. We went in March 2008 and it was freezing and lots of people complained to Reception but the water didn't get any warmer - one of the whirlpools at the end of the pool hasn't worked for two years either. Friends of mine stayed at the hotel in late April and the indoor pool was heated until 30th April - why heat the pool in April and not March?
We have continued to use the hotel because the location is good with shops and bus stop nearby, food is good, restaurant staff pleasant, good activities during the day and good entertainment at night both by the hotel entertainment team and professional entertainers - except for the comedian or hypnotist who are obscene - when they come on I go to bed! The room is large, light and airy with a bathroom with two sinks so we can have one each!
I have to admit the food quality has gone down over the four years but my Husband is happy with it so I'm happy.
I don't like the bar area as it tends to be very noisy probably because of the openness of the area. The chairs in the nightclub are uncomfortable and getting a bit tatty now. Now I've written this I can't understand why I'm considering going again!
Too many queue's for everthing

I have just recently come back from my 1st stay at the Flamingo Oasis hotel and i won't be returning !!! I went with my husband and 1 year old daughter and we were on the 22 floor of the 24 storey hotel and the lifts were a nightmare. Some days at peak times we waited almost 45 mintues for a lift. Everwhere you went there was a queue for something. The food was nice but the same thing repeated several times while we was there. The staff were shocking !!!! There were no manners and I was sick of waiting to be served while they finished their conversations. The entertainment people were great and the shows on a evening were very good couldnt fault them. One thing that was very annoying was my card key didnt work on several occasions so after waiting over half an hour for a lift and then discovering you have to go back down to reception didnt inspress me at all. Overall the hotel was clean and I would say was a good 4 star accomodation but it needs to improve it friendliness toward their guests.

Me and my husband have stopped at the flamingo oasis for 6 times now. Can not fault anything. Yes you do have to wait for the lifts, but not that long. We have always stayed on the top floors. We are also going back in august and christmas -would not go anywhere else.

We would like to thank all the staff at the hotel for making our holiday the best ever. The entertainment team were exceptional, providing great shows. The food was faultless with such variety to suit all. The rooms spacious and spotless as was the rest of the hotel. We highly recommend it and will certainly return.

I have to agree with the negative reviews already posted. I went with my husband and our two kids for a week and we were very disapointed considering we spent nearly £2000 for what was supposed to be a 4 star hotel. Our opinion was that it was nearer a 2 star, yes the hotel was aesthetically pleasing but that is where it ends.
We were there for a week and not once was there a single thing in the restaurant that the kids could have ate! And trust me our kids are not fussy! And unless you like liver of several tpes of anumal and steed fruits and veg you will struggle too!
The snacks which are served throughout the day are just the leftovers from the last meal. These leftovers are not edible as they have been sitting on the same hotplate until they shrivel!!
Everywhere you went you tripped over buggys - not occupied by children but by adults and im talking talking about people who had a disability - everyone had them as you can hire them for £4 a day - everyone seemed to forget they had legs that actually worked!!!
The entertainment was appaling and the entertainment team would struggle to get a job entertaining kids at birthday parties in fast food restaurants.
There was nothing for the kids to do - the outdoor pool was closed as well as the kids playpark and the indoor pool was smelly and dirty.
I certainly will not be returning. And to the previous poster who said people who left negative reviews must be hard to please - we are not we just expect an acceptable standard especially when it comes to food We certainly paid for a good standard.
