We really enjoyed staying at this hotel. The staff were friendly but not pushy. The room was comfortable and had lovely view. The location was great - close to the station but far enough away to be quieter. Faults - the breakfast was poor - Poorman's coffee - and I hate suitcases on wheels - they are up and down outside your window all day and half the night!

Nightmare Hotel - Don't stay here

In our 5 weeks in Spain, this was the only hotel that we had pre-booked on the Internet. It was hard to find, had no parking, and was AWFUL. We had booked for 3 nights but left after 1. The room was small dark and dirty, and was in need of repairs and renovations.

Top Local Tips for Barcelona

Bus Tourista Get to the Tourist information office as soon as possible after your arrival and buy a two-day ticket for the Bus Touristic, as opposed to the Barcelona Tour bus. Nothing particularly wrong with the latter, but with the former, you can get to travel around three different routes (depending on the time of year) - the Red Route (North), Blue Route (South) and the Forum Route (Green). You also get a book of discount tickets, with vouchers which give you reductions on entrance fees to other places of interest, such as the Joan Miro Foundation, the Museum of Contemporary Art and two Gaudi-designed buildings. For junk food lovers there are also meal deal vouchers and for sporting types, even an opportunity to get 10% off a FC Barcelona ticket. These vouchers are great value if you were going to do the big tourist thing anyway.

Airport Transfers Take the Aerobus to/from the Airport it is just a short Taxi ride away to the pick up point and much cheaper on the pocket.

If you like cemeteries... Make sure you vist the Poble nou cemetery in Barcelona, it's on the Yellow Line, down past Barcelonetta. It's a fantastic cemetery. In particular, check out the Angel of Death kissing a man on a 1930s grave. It's really fantastic. Lots of old and negelected graves and cats running around.
