Metro Card Get the card, it is worth the effort and the money. Very convenient, and if you just take a ride on the tour boats on the harbor, you practically get your money back.

ANTIAQUINO - quality/upscale but you will pay through the nose! ANTIAQUINO – this is an upscale place. Okay, I was told it was a “casual” place. Sure, if you are Donald Trump. This is FRESH seafood, certainly, and our meal was superb, not a single flaw. But you will pay for what you get. It was our first meal here, so we had to “downsize” for the rest of our time here. I have never heard of fish baked in salt (no, not the same thing as brining!), but ours was! And we paid €58 for that dish for two! I realized, after my eyes popped out of its sockets, that we were the youngest people there, as the restaurant seemed to cater to… a more distinguished clientele shall I say (so as not to offend anyone). Our entire bill was €99, and it included one bottled water, one house wine, one shared appetizer, and one shared dinner. No bread. Yeah, that dinner, though impeccable and one of the top seafood experiences I’ve had, was a tad overpriced.

CERVECERIA CATALUNA - tapas where the LOCALS dine!! CERVECERIA CATALUNA – OMG… a local place, that as far as I can tell ONLY serves tapas (versus meals) AND ALCOHOL. Terrific wine/beer selection. House wine was incredible and incredibly cheap! We got an assortment of tapas (clams – licked our fingers, almost licked the plate; chorizos, machega, grilled asparagus…). They have dessert - obviously, this is Spain! I don’t think they accept reservations, but we got there early (9 pm?) on a Wednesday and only had to wait 10 minutes. It’s about a 20 minute walk from the hotel, near the Diagonal section of town (corner of Rbla. Catalunya and Mallorca).
