Excellent location, excellent staff! And what clean rooms- the sheets and towels smelled good! We didn't enjoy hoisting our bags over the dozen or so steps to get to the lift and almost checked out the next day because of this! Glad we didn't get anything immediately because we fell in love with this quaint little place!

Very handy hotel at the top of ramblas. Bit old fashioned. Great for watching the hustle and bustle on the balcony at a night. Very basic. Hotel staff friendly and polite.

Top Local Tips for Barcelona

Great hot chocolate Near La Sagrada Familia, there is a park, on the opposite side of the church there is a small bakery (located around the middle of the block) that sells some wonderful hot chocolate. We tried about four different shops and this one was the best one. If we had to do it over again, we would sit there with something sweet and hot chocolate. The ladies stated that the shop is also open on Sundays.

Stretching Your Dining Dollars While Maximizing Your Sightseeing Barcelona has an abundance of amazing restaurants in all price ranges. If you're on a budget but want to experience some of the more upscale dining experiences a great way to do it is to pack a picnic lunch by visting one of the city's open air market. We always went to the Mercat de la Boqueria where we could enjoy freshly baked breads, a wide selection of fresh produce and uniquely Spanish selections of cheeses, cured meats and olives. We'd grab a bottle of wine (some decent reds were litterally cheaper then soft drinks) at the Carrefore supermarket on Las Ramblas. And we were set. This let us head out and see the sights all day. We'd find a nice park or scenic location to lay out our spread. It was quick, delicious and inexpensive. That way we could go out at night and enjoy some of the fine dining experiences for which Barcelona is justifiably famous.

Getting around If you have a foldable bike bring it with you to BCN, you can get anywhere fast that way. Also the metro has a 10 ride for 6 euro, and that is the best deal.
