Quick and easy location but noise & not partucularly friendly staff makes this a hotel only fine if you are on a budget. Also didnt have water for short amounts of time, a pain when u have limited time and want a shower!

Small & grimy hotel

A small, grimy hotel in Las Ramblas. Convenient and quirky location but with many rooms next to plaza, which didn't quiet down until 2:00 a.m. Desk personnel unhelpful, cold. Heard from others that there were many hotels in area with more pleasant accomodations and, if we were again in Barcelona, would seek them out.

Top Local Tips for Barcelona

We were robbed & pickpocketed Watch out for any unnecessary human contact. We were scammed with the "bird poop" trick. A "bird" pooped on my shirt and a friendly man came up to help me wipe it off. As my daughter and I were wiping the "poop" off my back & arm another guy came up to talk to us about something. Not speaking Catalon we didn't know what he was saying. Meanwhile, the 1st thief has seen our back turn on the bags and grabbed one and ran. He passed it off to yet another thief. Fortunately, I saw the 3rd guy run across the street and between my daughter chasing him down and the good citizens of Barcelona and the police he was caught, slammed against the wall & handcuffed and taken off to jail. Later that same trip we were pickpocketed of 7 EU out of my front pocket. Needless to say, all other belongings were locked in a safe at the hotel or in my money belt around my waist and below my beltline.

BARCELONA IS FULL OF PICKPOCKETS Before going to Barcelona I had been warned by numerous people that pickpocketing is common. Despite this heightened awareness, and being vigilent with our belongings, my friend and I were still the victims of mugging - had phones, money, bank cards etc stolen. This seems to be a very very common problem here, I have never seen anything like it. In the time we were sitting in the police station giving our formal statement of what had happened, 5 other couples came in, having been victims of pickpocketers also. Wear a money belt at all times. Never ever carry a bag, and if you do do not have anything valuable at all in it.
