It's near the square "plaza Reial", a very unsafe place. You can be afraid to enter in the hotel!!! It is so noisy all day and all night long,from the Rambla and from the rooms next to you! At the reseption they don't speak english! Very expensive internet access!

Central with kind personnel but very noisy

I have stayed at the Hotel Fornos in June 2007 for a week. The hotel location is and clean. The hotel is very central, close to most places of interest and personnel are very helpful and kind. But the rooms are small, extremely hot and noisy. If you have a room looking at the Rambla, you will listen to motorcycles, cars, buses, people all night long. La Rambla does not sleep. The side rooms are air-conditioned but the air-conditions of the other side rooms make a lot of noise and heat your room further. There is a television in the room with Spanish channels only. The rate for a single room was 60 euros, including VAT, without breakfast. Considering hotel prices are very high in Barcelona, this seems to be very reasonable price but as a person coming from Turkey, this was a huge amount to pay.

Budget hotel, typical 2 star but clean and excellent located. Noise from La Rambla must be expected.
