Ideal for Sport Events at the Forum
from happyYorkshire
I am writing this review for my son who I booked into this hotel with 2 friends for the Barcelona Sports Festival on the 6 - 7 June at the Forum centre - very good location for the event - actually opposite the Forum centre -bit far out of the centre of Barcelona - but easily accesible by tram or tube - new hotel - very large triple room (we took them to the hotel so actually saw everything) - comfy beds - well lit rooms - good views - basic but pleasant breakfast - staff very polite and helpful - if we stayed there we would use the more expensive rooms as they come with access to a concierge floor

Dear happyYorkshire,
Thank you very much for your nice comments. We are glad they had a nice stay, as you say, we have big triple rooms, and also family rooms for 4 people. Next time you should try our Executive level, is only 30€ extra. Hope to see you again. Best Regards, Alex Hereza

would definitely recommend this hotel
from sammidford
I found this hotel to be of excellent quality, the rooms were large, clean and well decorated. I booked this hotel due to it's proximity to the Parc Del Forum. It couldn't have been handier. The staff were very friendly/helpful. The only downside was the charge for the car park and the fact that I only got up for breakfast once, during my stay. I will be staying there again next year. I was highly impresssed.

Far better than expected
from turnerbabs
We found a great rate for the exectutive room which gave us access to the '15th Floor'; which offered complimentary drinks, snacks and a roof top terrace - v.v.nice! Staff were very helpful, cleanliness was great, the gadgets and qulity of the facilities in the room and the hotel were top notch!! We chose the hotel as we needed to be near to the Parc de Forum, if your wanting to be right in the centre(la ramblas) it may not be the one for you, however the tram, metro and bus are all very close and very freqeunt taking approx 10mins. there is a mall (with lots of resturarnts) and beach (roof top pool and sunbathing area loads better) v. nearby. we had read of some worrying reviews from earlier this year however the negative comments were not appartant during our stay. i emailed prior to enquire about the negative comments i received a qucik and fully reassuring reply direct form the hotel. we would highly recommend the hotel.

Absolutely fabulous hotel, I love it!
from Antonche
I spent 8 days in Diagonal Zero and I have to say it loud and clear: that's one of the most fascinating hotels I have ever stayed at. First of all, it is gorgeous: excellent design, very impressive high-tech decisions (the lightning was so striking and easily managed), comfortable and beautiful furniture. The staff was very friendly -- they gave us a free map of Barcelona and shared a lot of useful information about the city, the transport, everything. It was very clean, spotless. And very quiet, which is untypical for a Mediterranean hotel. The prices of the room service were pretty low.
There is a metro station right behind the corner. The tram stops in front of the hotel. And the green line of Bus Turistic (one of the local sightseeing bus companies) passes some 50 meters away. The taxi rates are reasonable -- the ride to Piazza Catalunya is about 10€.
One of the biggest Barcelona shopping malls is directly opposite the hotel and I spent some good time and money there :)

The hotel was just opened to public and we received a great price for the quality we received. Our room was very nice, clean with adjustable lightning, big sony bravia flat tv, wi-fi internet etc. Friendly, English speaking staff. They gave us a free map and even marked the nearest bus turistic stop for us.

A great stay in Barcelona
from heidipar
A group of three girls who were not out to party but to enjoy the sights, ambiance of the city and relax, this hotel was great. The roof top has sunbeds and a small pool but more than adequate for sunbathing and keeping cool. Room was fine, we had three in the room, plenty of room for us all. Any requests we made ie another mug, were brought to us very quickly.
This hotel has the tram running outside which will take you to within 10mins walk of the port. The "modern" metro is a 5 min walk and is quick and efficient. We only ever waited 2-3 mins max for a train on every route we took. We were in the city centre within 20 mins door to door. We purchased a T10 ticket for the metro and tram etc. We shared this between the three of us ie put it in one after the other. This made the cost approx 70p a trip.
Lots of building work around the hotel but the windows cut out all the noise and the cutains were blackout, consequently we overslept!!
Breakfast was typical of Spain and more than adequate, plenty of choice and staff more than helpful in replacing anything that had run out. The hotel has had a refurbishment which meant the gym was not in use but we knew that before going. Only criticism was that room got very dusty in two days and beds not moved often enough to clean dust from underneath. All in all staff were very helpful and we had a lovely time.

Hotel not ready to recieve guests
from york1
We stayed at this hotel for one night prior to boarding our cruise ship. We paid extra for an executive room which included drinks and nibbles in the 15th lounge. After reading a review on Trip Advisor stating that the lounge wasn't yet open I emailed the hotel and they assured me it would be ready for our arrival. Guess what! No lounge ready when we arrived. The room was ok but nothing special, high tec but dodgy lighting didnt switch on and off as it should. Basic amenities in bathroom, no soap dish so soap had to cause a mess around the basin area and no shower cap. Wew were supposed to be able to make tea and coffee in the microwave but there wad only one mug and no tea, coffee or milk in the room when we arrived. We did eventually get some delivered to the room after a long wait. The mini bar remained empty throughout our stay. We were given breakfast as compensation for the 15th lounge not being open but it was fairly basic and wouod not have been worth paying for. The hotel has potential to be good but needs to get teething problems sorted out before accepting paying guests.
New Hotel
from BinDereDoneDat
Stayed here a few days at a Conference nearby. Hotel is new and is fine although the sophisticated Windows system controlling the lights didn't work - to darken teh room I had to pull out teh access card and disconnect all power.
The Princess opposite is an older hotel where one of my colleagues stayed and it's a buit cheaper and yet seems equally as comfortavle.
The location is fine for teh conference centre but not great for sightseeing. There is a metro nearby but if you miss the metro on your way home it's about a 2hr walk (especially if you get lost! - although this is one way of exploring - I know the location of a Jamaican 'Rude'Club in Barcelona which is definintely open a 21am, and not many tourists can better that!
Barcelona's best is Gaudi - no question or doubt!
Likely that you'll get pickpocketd - and don't think that you're strret wise and aware and it won't happen to you!
I was at Las Rambals and was distracted at a girl grabbing my crotch whilst another picke my pocket - very hard not to be distracted! However having lost my wallet in Madrid I gad it tied to my belt so it came with me as I mover on , and i saw it danghling from my belt.
Another trick is asking you to sign a petition. You then find you've to make a contribution to some worthy cause. You take out a $5 and say you''ll gibve $2 and want change. whilst you're waiting for change a scond girl with a clipboard showves it in your face, but over your wallet. Then whilst your wallet is concealed by teh clipboard she takes out some notes. But not this time!
Best Restaurant in Barcelona is La Fonda - join the queue at 8pm outside. Meal is $19 and would be similar to what costs $50 in Dublin.

Disappointing, not worth the money
from bettyboop020
False advertising on their website as the hotel is clearly not complete yet and would best suit people on business, no gym facilities, no club lounge ( even though we paid extra for the executive room for these facilities) lovely flatscreen tv but mostly german channels!!!! tea/ coffee facility in room is a microwave ( no kettles) food from restaurant enough to feed a pidgeon but for the cost you would expect caviar. language barrier with staff and no information leaflets for areas of interest to visit whilst in barcelona. overall very disappointing for the cost and would best suit pepole on business not pleasure
