Pluses: - it was cheap although booked a day before our arrival, - if U like walking round the city, it's not very far from the centre (20 minutes to Sagrada Familia and 45 minutes to Barri Gotic ) so it gives an opportunity to take a look at things. - there is a supermarket by the corner - neighbourhood is calm and rather quiet - room (double) was quite spacious (bathroom as well ), nicely arranged and comfortable, clean - staff make up the room every morning, change the bedding and towels ( they didn't disturb us at all) - air-conditioning works pretty good ( and safe too ) - staff are helpful and friendly. - they announced every World Cup match so we could watch it on a big screen TV :) Minuses: - at two occasions we felt smell of sevages from the bathroom, but I don't think it's their fault because this smell is present almost all over the city :) - staff could speak english better - sometimes it's necessary to explain things several times - it took suprisingly long time to find out a website which offered rooms in this hotel - we found it by an accident only - so they could advertise better as well. Remarks: - beware of minibar in the room - don't use it as it costs a lot - taxi from/to an airport takes about 30 minutes and costs 30 euros

Dreadful hotel!

I have just arrived back from a 3 nights stay at The Bel Art Hotel in Barcelona and to say the least the hotel was dreadful. In a very bad location 10-15 minutes out of the town centre. The hotel itself was the most boring quiet place I have ever stayed, the bar was didnt open until late evening and after a uphill walk back from the metro you really needed a drink. The food was horrible the most staff we seen was two at any one time no room service was available. This hotel really did spoil our time in Barcelona and I seriously suggest you stay clear of it if you are planning a trip to barcelona.
