Don't be deceived by the pictures on the internet. The room me and my friends stayed in had a leaky bath/shower which was very difficult to operate, poor air con and only a little mirror in the bathroom. The walls aren't very thick as the security guard came and told us off for talking.It wasnt like we were shouting. The windows are covered by a mesh net so you feel trapped. However the breakfast is very good but at all other meals you can only have water, which gave half of the group i was with tummy ache.In your room you will have a little bowl of sweets which are very nice.
The hotel seemed clean but the lifts were faulty.
My party arrived at half past 2 and me and my 2 friends didn't get into our rooms until an hour later, which ment everyone else was ready to go out, but they were waiting for us.
The location isn't very ideal as it is on a hill.
If you are wanting a hotel of B&B Standered this hotel is ok.

Booked this hotel weeks in advance. When we got there the clerk told us we had to go to another Catalonia hotel, as they were full. This happened to two other families who turned up at the same time we did. Said our new hotel was four stars and in the centre of Barca. Wrong! six stops away on the metro and three stars. My son was disapointed he didnt have a window to look out of. I dont know why some off the staff are in the tourist business, their attitude is terrible. I gave two stars but that was only because they paid for the taxi to the next hotel.

This is an ok-ish place - the staff are friendly (and if you at least try to use just a few simple Spanish words - like hola & gracias! it makes a big difference. Clean straightforward rooms, no views, but outside is so amazing why sit in your room?

Biggest thing AGAINST this place is that it is such a climb up from the metro (watch out which exit you use at the metro too, it makes a BIG difference - exit straight right). As you arrive at Metro Vallcarca exhausted from your day's sightseeing you are suddenly faced with some serious hill climbing (and with a suitcase it is no fun!). And when the metro is closed definitely get a taxi. Also, the lifts in the hotel are iffy; 1 broken & 1 broke down while I was there and after the hill walking, up to the 6th floor is tough on the knees. But at least it keeps your bum in trim! HOWEVER, you are a few minutes (hill) walking from Park Guell which for Gaudi lovers is the great thing about stopping here.

Top Local Tips for Barcelona

The tourist bus We were there for 4 nights and on the firts day decided to go on the tourist bus. I was really glad we did this, as we got to see everything, and then decide what we wanted to more particularly visit.

Barcelona is a wealth of history. Enjoy the historical aspects of the city,.....and by all means, have a dinner at Los Caracoles, too! I have been to Spain (Barcelona) a few times, I absolutely LOVE it there!

Scams BEWARE, if you are walking in a quiet part of town whether la ramblas or particularly the OLYMPIC PORT do not stop if you are approached by a single person asking for either directions or to have their picture taken. You will be approached by 2 other people claiming to be tourist police officers...... THIS IS A SCAM!!! YOU WILL BE ASKED FOR ID or be asked to show your wallet/purse to check if you have drugs. I assume they will then mug you. We sussed this out straight away and they moved on. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS TRICK........ Beware they will try and lead you to a quiet spot. We've been there 4 times before and love the place but everytime seems a little scarier than the last....
