keeping safe dont take anything that can not be replaced. do not get out guide books or maps in a public place go to a cafe and have coffee but even then don't spread them on the table do your home work! barcelona is a very safe city there is a lot of police presence at all times but if you go out get drunk and wander around you will be in trouble! a lot of people apparantly get robbed on ramlas but in i have only heard of phones cameras left on tables ect you my be on holiday but would you do that at home?the only new thing ive heard is people especially women are being targetted by con artists- women saying they have been robbed or their luggage has gone missing ect. dont believe them they are either on drugs or are working for some one whothey owe money to for drugs. lots of these in pratt aeroport and on placa catalunya

Cal Pep Absolutely delicious! After spending a few days hunting around Barcelona restaurant reviews for a weekend break, I found this place had solid reviews and decided to give it a go. We arrived around 3:15pm for lunch - they eat late around there - and were the last ones they allowed in (4pm was closing time). We had to stand in a queue for 30mins before getting a seat at the bar, by which time we were absolutely starving. You don't get a menu, but if you know what you want you can ask for it - we had no idea, so just asked for a mix of different things. We got tender squid, melt-in-the-mouth beef, garlic butter coated shellfish, grilled small green chillis (pimiento del padron) which were only very slightly spicy so they were divine to eat whole. It was great fun watching them prepare the food right in front of us and I cannot recommend this restaurant enough - if you're in Barcelona, this is a must.
