stay here

We have just had Christmas at this hotel. We were woken everynight by noisy holiday makers some of whom allowed their children to run lose at 3 am, running up and down the corridors (I know it was Christmas but I still needed to sleep). It is a very noisy hotel. The marble floors make any noise sound much worse than it really is. We had a supior room which was very nice. Very clean room. Plenty of towls ect. Food was fine, Just what I would expect in a 3 star. The staff were more than helpful. I was very please with how nice the staff were to everyone. Plenty going on in the hotel as far as entertainment goes. This hotel is a short stroll to the beach down sleep hill. The pool is a bit small for the size of the hotel. There are nicer parts of town to stay. I feel this area is a bit run down and crowded. All in all it is what you would expect of a 3 star.

Have just returned from 2 weeks @ Princesa Dacil - when the holiday was booked we knew this was classified as a 3* hotel and mostly that is what it is. The staff are without exception friendly, helpful and most pleasant. The entertainment staff go out of their way to get everyone 2 want 2 join in & the standard of spoken english is exceptional. Sadly, the food sometimes leaves something 2B desired i.e. "scrambled egg is finished" when breakfast has over 1 hour for people 2 come down. This hotel has guests who return year after year, infact one guy we got talking to has been 4 22 years on the trot ..... so it can't be that bad can it? It would be nice if the pool was heated as quite a lot of places do now & also please replace the old style hard sun lougers with the soft ones and then people would not feel they had 2 do the "chicken run" @ 8:30 each day!!! Cleaning of rooms could B better i.e. ashtrays, balconys should be cleaned of pigeon droppings daily? Sadly this is the noisest hotel we have ever stayed at for trying 2 gwt a good night's sleep

ok

spent two weeks in dacil 31st aug. to 14 sept 04,refurbishment needed badly on some floors, lack of air con.a big minus.food was edible but very bland, also a shortage of staff very noticable and admitted by management, but the hotel is clean and we did not see one cockroach, but how someone can say you get 5star service is laughable, but all in all not bad for a three star hotel

The best hotel ever

from A TripAdvisor Member
We have now stayed at the Princesa Dacil for the last 7 years, and find it the best hotel we have ever used. You get 5 star service at a 3 star hotel.
We spent our Golden Wedding aniversary there in May 2004, and were treated like royalty by the staff.
The Manager Senor Guillerma Gonzalez, and all the staff could not be more freindly and helpful.
We are again booked in for two months over Christmas 2004 and New Year 2005, When I shall again be Father Christmas as I have been for the last 2 years

A BRILL HOTEL!!!!

this is the best holiday we've ever been on.
as everyone else is saying, the food was really bad, but what made the holiday worthwhile was the entertainment staff!!! they change every term but when we went they were excellent and very funny.
Weim (the blonde belgian one) is GORGEOUS!!!!
hopefully going back there one day, views from the hotel balconies are excellent.

Good Luck princesa Dacil

This was my second trip to princesa dacil. The hotel is comfortable and friendly, the entertainment staff try there best to involve everyone. The hotel is close to the beach and shops. Some people will never be pleased, I found the food acceptable and always something there to eat. Sunbeds were scarce but if you to the pool before ten then you would get one. Professional wingers need to save there pennies more and go on a five star holiday, hotel princesa dacil is clean and comfortable what more do you want!

Worst hotel EVER stayed in

from A TripAdvisor Member
We stayed at the Sol Princesa Dacil from 20th August Until 3rd September 2004 and I have to say that it is the worst hotel that I have ever stayed in. That hotel gives the Sol group of hotels a very bad name. The food was so disgusting that we ate out for the whole two weeks that we were there. there were cockroaches in the hotel reception, the cleaner saw them but just laughed and then walked away. The swimming pool was dirty that you could not see the bottom of the pool. Sun loungers were dirty when you did eventually get one to lay on, no parasols to get hold off only if you are a very early riser and then it was always the same people that got them.Back to the food again, Pork, chips, and salad thats all they ever served, and breakfast was always the same. We had to clear our own table before we sat down no clean cutlery, cups or glasses and the ice cream never got replenished at all during the evening. will never ste foot in that hotel again.

not a bad hotel

from A TripAdvisor Member
we arrived at our hotel in the afternoon it was really hot it took me and my family ages to check in,then we got our key and we went up to our room, when we got to a our it had no air conditioning, and we was all very hot we was on the 10th floor and only the 14th and 15 floor have air conditioning and some of the 13th.we went down to dinner and it wasnt too bad we had been to sol hotels before and the the hotel was a sol hotel so we was pleased with that,on our first night we decided to go in to the town and have a look we found a bar called dreamers which is 5-10mins walking time away from the hotel up by the sea front (its a good bar with live music and entertainment) but in he morning we had to go down to the pool very early to put our towels on the sun beds then in breakfast there would dirty table cloths still on the tables from people before plates and cups still on tables not been cleared away,it would be the same for breakfast every morning the same food, the wouldnt be any knives and folks or cups for the coffee machine, and they never put on clean table cloths they just turned them over to the other side.At dinner the food was horrible the resteraunt was always really hot. and they entertainment wasnt to bad....they had a mini disco with kiddies songs to keep them entertained, and then at 11pm there would be a disco that was good for me and my friends to sit in and have a giggle and it was also air conditioned and that was open untill about 2am and there was crocroches in the hotel and quite a few at that! my holiday wasnt bad but the only things that let it down was the horrible food,no air conditioning, fight for the sunbeds but apart from that the holiday wasnt bad.

Do not stay here.

Stayed here from July 23rd-July 30th.First impressions were not good upon arriving in Los Cristianos i pointed out to my Fiancee this horrible hotel that looked like a council estate tower block.Imagine my dismay when i found out this was the hotel.Checked in with no real problems but found the room to be old and shabby with no Air Conditioning.Went onto the balcony and found it be covered in Pigeon droppings and cigarette ends and a load of dead plants in a window box. Also the room was only half heartedly cleaned by the maids. The next bad thing is the food its absoluteley disgusting and we ended up having to eat out 5 nights of our stay.Only good thing is the nice pool area.Shame about the dirty sunbeds.

dreadful

from A TripAdvisor Member
Worst hotel ever stayed in - food was dreadful - chips for breakfast! and pork 6 nights out of 7 and the mad scramble for sunbeds at 8.30am, people were actually running for them. Would never rate this a 3 star hotel in a million years
