not what i had booked
from markbbk
Booked to stay in Parque Santiago 3 but was put into 5, which was across a busy rd from the main complex. When i complained to staff they did not want to know, told to speak to my rep ,panorama, who was of little help. Do not book this complex if you have two children as there is only enough room for three in the apartments. When leaving asked for a changing room to wash but was told there was only one room and no way of booking a time, or putting your name on a list , just had to stand at reception and wait for 2 or 3 hours. not a good way to finish your holls. Lucky a kind sole let us use their shower. Have sent a letter of complaint to Panorama but don't expect to hear much from them. Good pools good area just a pity the panorama put profit before customer care.
the sax bar

Been back home now for 3 days and i feel i want to go back ASAP. The PS2 was the bees knees. Four of us went, married couple and 2 teenage daughters. The apartment was the mutts nutts with a wonderful sea view and a cracking view of the mountains to the right. the apartment was booked privately and was more than i expected, alot more. The pool area was nice and clean and very spacious. The only glitch i found was paying for sunbeds and a parasol whenever we decided to have a day by the pool, gotta stay on top of that tan. If like some families do who have young kids the price of somewhere to lie couls end up being quite costly. four beds and a parasol was around £8 -9 per day depending on who was the attendant. the area of Las americas was very clean, virtually no litter to be seen which made a nice change from the likes of Malta and Ibiza.
The walk from PS2 along the sea front to Los Christianos was very nice and not very many "lucky lady" timeshare touts to bother you. The other way towards Adeje was a different story altogether.
If you are young and up for it you would love Veronicas as i would have 20 years ago but too much for me nowadays lol.
The Patch was a wee bit leary at times but as long as the girls had fun it was okay. Most of the bars in the Patch are family orientated but non of them seem to get going until after ten at night. The choice of place to drink was vast and all have some kikind of entertainment laid on. The Spotlight bar has a very nice outside area where the resident band played live until just before midnight and then they move inside.
I spent a fair few nights (too many so the wife says) in " The Sax Bar" where the love music was second to non. Its run by a chap called Tom who was the original drummer for 80's band The Skids. The guitar player of an evening was A1 and on alternate nights the live band " the real deal" played and they just rocked. Would i go again? well yes but maybe just the wife and myself next time seeing as teenagers are so hard to please the vast majority of the time.
Overall a brilliant holiday was had by all.

Excellent Complex. In the best location!

Just returned from Tenerife 1st August 2006 - 15th August 2006.
This was our first holiday to the island of Tenerife; we can tell you that we were impressed and will be defiantly visiting again in the future.
On arrival we were put in a Studio and were rather cramped to say the least for three adults and would therefore recommend that you pay the extra for a 1 bed roomed apartment. I think that reception endures to give you the best possible accommodation on arrival and when we arrived there was only Studios left. Anyways, they were kept very clean and the complex was maintained by a large team of maids, security staff, gardeners and pool attendants.
Within the complex is a large choice of places to eat but we opted to venture out of the complex as there is an even wider selection of restaurants, especially in the Safari centre opposite.
At the front of the complex and turn left is a large golden sand beach although we only visited it once during our 14 night stay as the morning we did visit we left with headaches off the foreigners that decided to TALK TALK TALK and stand around and not lie and relax.
Opposite the Parque Santiago 3 is a well stocked supermarket with reasonable prices we used it everyday.
To conclude I can say that you won't be disappointed with the PS3, and that you are in the best possible location with 5 5* hotel's around it (Mare Nostrum Resort) and a number of 4* hotels.

Not a bad place

Went with a friend to the Parque Santiago 4. The complex is large and clean and manned 24 hours. The studio we had slept 3, it was basic but clean and served its purpose as a place to sleep. The pool is large and the poolside has plenty of sunbads (get up and bag one though, we found that lots of people got a bed then didn't turn up for the day!) The pool bar is OK but if you weren't eating the service was slow and quite poor.
The location is 2 mins from the beach and 30 seconds to the supermarket or a restaurant. Supermarket was well stocked and had lots of English brands. The surrounding area is clean and not noisy so its a good place for families.
The Patch is about 5-8 mins away and the Veronicas 15-20 mins walk. The Veronicas isn't all it's cracked up to be really. Gas is a good night out, Jumpin Jacks OK and Busbys a bit seedy!! Didn't find one place that served a decent Strawberry Daquari! (spelling?!?) The PRs on Veronicas are very insistant, the line "We're starting at the bottom and working our way back" worked well. At The Patch, Spotlight is a great place, brilliant live music and a friendly PR.
If you head for shops there's loads of choice. The dancing fountains near the shops are fantastic to watch.
As for Tenerife overall, well it's OK but I wouldn't go back, if you want a good Canary hol head for Lanzarote.

We stayed in Parque Santiago 4 after our A level exams. There was 4 of us, 2 couples. The hotel was only a 20 minute walk from the night life in Veronicas strip but there was a selection of resturants all around us, especially on the sea front. It was extremely hot and the pool was really nice and massive. It wasnt that busy in the hotel which was a good contrast between the clubs at night. There was not that many other young people in our hotel but we met loads out and about.
the hotel was a 5- 10minute walk from the sandy beach but u do have to pay for beds! but the pool was so nice just stay there.
We took a day out to the Aqua park which soo mcuh fun. It is a lot cheaper and easier to book with the reps as you beat the ques and got picked up by a coach free. Definately go there!!
The evenings were eventful! The meals out were really cheap, so self catering apartments is a good option, and the drinks even better! everywhere you went you were offered great deals on your drinks. Beware of the PRs!!! Some were very forceful, just name a place you are going to and walk away. We suggest "Rags"! It had 2 for 1 drinks that were very strong! and free shots. It was easy to get served there. For hardcore dancing definately go upstairs from Rags to "Tramps" which had a massive dance floor and was air conditioned!!!!
We definately recommend here for young people!!

We booked our stay at the Parque Santiago as a late deal and was unsure what to expect! We couldnt have been happier, the accomodation was brilliant. It was cleaned every day. My review of this hotel neednt be long it was perfect right near the beach right in the middle of los Christianos and Las Americas. Although the bars wernt that far to walk we had no noise no disturbance and other than walking to Veronicas strip we wouldnt have even realised it existed!
The hotel is in a great position and the studio room had all facilities needed on our holiday!
If you have booked to stay here you will not be dissapointed.

Our First time to Tenerife
from christinacat
Went to tenerife with husband and 14 year old son and 11 year old daughter. booked a 2 bed appartment, but were given 2 interconnecting studio appartments. this worked great as we got 2 balconies, 2 bathrooms, 2 fridges etc.. The staff are excellent. pools very clean, always being checked. location great - just accross from the sea. - Nice boardwalk, rocky shoreline, manmade beach. Complex was pretty good.
Tenerife itself did dissapoint. while there was loads of restaurants - there was a sameness about it - very average food. the expensive ones were really too pricey.( I know about pricey living in Ireland !!}. The area around Parque Santiago is upmarket and very well maintained. However it is a vast resort and there was some really bad/sad looking appartment blocks. Our overall impression was that we were pleased with the quality of our accommodation, unfortunately we will not be likely to return to Tenerife. We have been to the other Canaries, and Lanazrote wins hands down.

It was just OK really

I arrived with my family, 2 adults and 2 children (14 &12) at around 2pm to find that our rooms weren't ready. After about an hour we were allocated two studios as requested, however they were located at the front of the complex overlooking the main street which I had specifically asked to avoid. I complained and was told that the problem was with the company with whom I had booked the rooms, however after further negotiation I was allocated 2 better rooms in a better location. So remember if you are not happy do not accept what you you have been allocated.
The complex is big and impersonal with a shopping centre beneath which is ok but the better shops are along the main street. The accomodation that we eventually ended up with was perfectly adequate and was cleaned on a daily basis. Each room had satalite TV including some English channels although that is not a big concern to me some people will no doubt require their weekly dose of Eastenders!
We found the complex to be quiet with regard to noise, both at night and during the day. There was a mix of nationalities including the home nations, Spanish, German and Scandanavian.
As the complex was so large and it was peak time (Easter) the areas around the pool were a sea of sunbeds packed in like sardines. Obviously at other times this would not be an issue.
My main issue with the complex is the pool and the restrictions placed upon it's use.
We like many others have children for whom the pool is the main focus of their holiday and our children were not impressed. It was very very salty, much more so than the sea and the use of inflatables, balls etc were banned. If one dared to instigate a game involving a ball etc then it was stopped immediately by one of the pool attendants. I appreciate that a pool without children enjoying themselves will be a major bonus and attraction to many adult readers and I suppose I would be the same in different circumstances however I am sure that people can see my point.
We only ate at the complex during lunch and the food was very nice and reasonable value.
During the evening we ate out at various restaurants around the fountain on the main street
to the right of the complex as you leave via the main entrance. Food was great and similarly priced to uk.
Beach is just out the back of the complex to the left and is very nice and convienient.
Overall the holiday was OK. In my opinion the facilities were pretty basic and overall I think that the 5 star rating afforded to the complex based upon other peoples reviews is somewhat generous.
