We spent just one night here. We had a problem locating the hotel as the map was useless and the road number given was incorrect. The first room we were given didn't have a working TV. Then our room became very cold as night approached, so I had to ask the hotel to put the heating on - which they did to be fair. The heating control for the radiator in the bathroom then fell off in my hand.
Breakfast the next morning was awful, with cold coffee and low quality items on offer. The manager, who had promised on the phone the previous evening to meet me in the morning to discuss my complaints, never bothered to turn up. Not to be recommended, as far as I'm concerned. Maybe it's changed hands since the earlier reviews?

Excellent accommodation and delicious food

Used as a base for walking on the myriad paths in this glorious area, we stayed in one of the fina's 20 cottages, which was parador standard at least, (We had terrace, main room with kitchette, large bedroom and immaculate bathroom. Located in its own pretty and peaceful valley, the hotel's restaurant was superior (go for half board - no shortcomings at all).

In Aracena to go walking on the numerous trails in this wonderfully unspoilt area, we stayed in one of the hotel's cottages, which was up to Spanish parador standard, if not superior. Wonderfully peaceful private valley location just outside a really Spanish town. Excellent food, nice service.

Top Local Tips for Aracena

La Gruta de las Maravillas I wouldn't recommend this for anyone with breathing problems or anyone who has problems getting around. The tour is an hour long and requires climbing and decending flights of steps. Rails are along the steps and I advise using them at all times. It's very slippery in some areas. No cameras are allowed. Individual pictures of visitors are taken while inside the cave and costs 5 euros. The tour is in Spanish.
